Sing 2 Reviews
It’s a really genius sequel!! They were missing some of the characters, but otherwise it is amazing!🤩
What a gorgeous and beautiful movie. I don't care what age you are...if you can't find some kind of tranquility or peace watching a movie this good, then I truly fear for your soul. My vote: 10/10 animated masterpiece.
#1. When the first Sing movie came out, I found it a pleasant watch. It's one of those kids' movies that even if you’re an adult, and there’s absolutely no shame in that, you’d find yourself wanting to watch it with the whole family or even when you're alone. Then, when Sing 2 first came out, I was unsure and uninterested in watching it because sometimes movies that get a sequel don’t live up to the original and are often met with disappointment, so I didn't watch it. But later, a few years past, I was bored and decided to give it a try. You know that feeling when you come out after watching a movie that it alters your brain and attitude in some way, feeling inspired and something else you can't quite explain. That’s how it was for me. Everything was just magical from the characters, music, and visuals which in my opinion tops the first movie. There were so many things going on, but not in a bad way because it felt like the switching of scenes to the next as well as the music choices were done well that it made it hard to tear your eyes off the screen, and I couldn’t help but also sing along to the music. #2. Additionally, the opening scene made me wonder what was going on because it showed a dark and gloomy atmosphere, then the music was played, and everything suddenly became bright. I realized that they were doing a play, and it all made sense. This may not be important, but I feel like it's intentional so that it gets the viewers’ attention from the get-go. Another thing is the parallelism of the first scene (Buster chasing the taxi - where Suki is- on a bike) to the last scene (Suki chasing the bus), and the part where they jumped out of the window and went along with the show without completing their practice was the climax and a remarkable feat that they ended up pulling it off despite the troubles throughout. (This part will always be my favorite, and I started liking Porsha too. Her personality was not the greatest initially, but she ended up helping and she can definitely sing and dance well) #3. We're introduced again to the main character, Buster Moon. And just like in the first movie, he's an ambitious Koala who keeps aiming higher for his goal – which is to have his show/plays be seen and known by a lot of people. After a negative encounter and some self-doubts, he wanted to prove that he could achieve his long-life dream. So, with his group, each having a unique personality, they set out to the city where with their skills and some deception made their way to perform. Because of their lies, they encountered some troubles and consequences from short deadlines, unpleasant people and circumstances, and a cruel boss. However, despite the odd way of reaching their goal, you can sympathize with them, especially with the internal problems they were facing. They were also unwilling to give up despite the obstacles thrown at them, and even when all hopes seemed lost within the group, the determination of one character lifted the whole group up, and ended up doing something crazy in a fun way. In the end, everyone achieved what they wanted. After watching this movie (A couple of times already), the message I got is if there’s something you want in life, whatever obstacles you face, and whenever people doubt you, just keep going despite the difficulties you’ll face, and if you give up now, you’re giving up a possibly great future. Although it’s important to be rational with your decisions and this movie sets some unrealistic standards, the message still stands. #5. Again, even if you’re older than what age this movie’s for, I still recommend watching this if you’re chilling alone or with your family or you can just play it in the background which I do and probably will continue to do so.
Great movie! So colerful and funny. Loved it.
Illuminations best movie yet. 10/10
Surprisingly better than the first. A Funny and thoughtful sequel.
I eventually got to watching this on DVD, after watching the first Sing movie some time ago. I enjoyed the first film, but I thought that it's storyline was weak, mostly relying on the strong characters and music to prop up the second half. Well, this time around the story is good too, and Sing 2 is much better for it. We already know the characters, so the film hits the ground running from the start, but unlike many sequels, this film is able to build on the weaknesses in the first film to deliver an entertaining story. It's quite a stange formula, but somehow it works well. The music and comedy are still very good, but now the story is good enough to keep everything on course. I really enjoyed this second film, and I am happy to reccomend it.
It is cool but I did not watch it but Mike was not in it
It’s the same as the first, except not a whole lot better, just a whole lot worse! I hate how meena the elephant is treated. Does she find love? Yes, but not before her character being embarrassed tf out of. Ain’t she a minor too? And she’s put in very uncomfortable situations and treated poorly? Like give her a break in the third movie I beg you. I also HATED Clay the lion. I know they intentionally got a different singer but it was bs. The voice acting on him sucked so bad. It sucked so much that when he sang I was blown away bc no way in hell he would be singing like that. The voice actor tried aging the voice but it came off as not genuine. I’m surprised I don’t see that many ppl having a problem with that but then again it’s a kids movie. I was a teen when the first one came out and I loved it. I had high hopes for this one but I was bummed out with meenas constant bad fortune/abuse and clays awful voice actor
A lot of fun seeing this one with my kid. The music was great, I actually laughed at a lot of the gags and the story hit just the right notes. Great choice for a family movie.
Si deseas una película reconfortante para toda la familia, está hermosa producción es lo que necesitas.
One of a few animation sequels that surpasses the original. Entertaining, enjoyable, with a good story line, and memorable song choices equals an animation film that will be hard to forget.
Sing 2 (2021), is proof that the franchise knows how to reinvent itself while keeping the charm of the first movie. The story evolves naturally, now with the animals from the Koala Theater, Buster Moon, on a new adventure that brings more surprises, and even some emotional moments. The soundtrack, once again, is flawless, with engaging musical numbers that will make anyone sing along, and the visual design is perfect. The film has that unique touch that blends unpretentious fun with touching moments, and without a doubt, it's a great choice for a family movie night. Kids will love it, and anyone who enjoyed the first movie will definitely not be disappointed. In the end, Sing 2 is a colorful and lively fun experience, delivering exactly what it promises: much more fun to enjoy with everyone around.
Kinda disappointed...
I wanted to take a moment to review all three installments of this delightful series in one go: the original film "Sing," its sequel "Sing 2," and the short feature "Sing: Thriller." Starting with the first movie, it was truly engaging, packed with entertaining moments and amazing music that was nothing short of spectacular. The voice talents of Scarlett Johansson and Taron Egerton really shone through, and Tori Kelly's portrayal of a timid character who ultimately makes a significant impact was simply breathtaking. The plot, centered around an audition to save a theater spearheaded by Matthew McConaughey's character, allowed for the development of a diverse cast of animal characters. This vibrant storytelling captivated audiences from start to finish, making the first film a must-see for everyone. The sequel, "Sing 2," followed up impressively with its own share of stunning moments and laughs. The film focused on a stage production, with Reese Witherspoon reprising her role, while allowing some side characters to take center stage. This narrative twist introduced a genuine villain, enhancing the storyline. I appreciated how this sequel presented a layered narrative, showcasing a soft-hearted lion grappling with his wife's death, ultimately finding the strength to reclaim his star status with the encouragement of his fans and the production team. It was a heartfelt journey filled with a touching plot. The short film "Sing: Thriller" brought back our beloved characters for a Halloween-themed production of Michael Jackson's classic. It was a delightful addition, filling the gap as we await the next chapter in the series. This brief feature allowed us to reconnect with the characters and experience their charm once again. In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend both films and the short. They provide a complete and enjoyable storyline, fantastic music, and a cast of unforgettable characters that contribute to a wonderfully entertaining animated experience.
Underrated Classic. Also, Nooshy is A BEAST!!!
Not as funny as the first one but still very good and fun
