Slaughterhouse Rulez Reviews
If I was in high school, I would have been super happy to discover this film in the video store library.

A star-studded cast and a high-concept premise make promises that "Slaughterhouse Rulez" ultimately can't keep.

It looks to me like something that lost its way in the edit... overall I think it doesn't hang together.

Bits are good, bits are bad and quite a lot is plain baffling but the overall effect is invigorating.

A fracking-related subplot is possibly a step too far in the name of topicality, and the monsters look like the offspring of the dog from Ghostbusters and a blancmange. But it's good, if not exactly clean, fun.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Nov 2, 2018
Early on, there are stray flashes of the class-savvy romp this script wanted to be, but they're drowned out by gag after jolt after obvious gag and jolt.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Nov 1, 2018
Showing more enthusiasm than aptitude, this earns 'could do better if it tried' on its report card - but it's a strange enough genre mix to be vaguely worth a look.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Nov 1, 2018
Boorish, schlocky teenage locker room humour.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Oct 31, 2018
Every cliché is an intentional parody but while there's enough suspense and humour to pass the time, this isn't as clever as previous Pegg/Frost/Wright classics such as Shaun Of The Dead.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Oct 31, 2018
Slaughterhouse Rulez, for a horror-comedy, is neither particularly scary or especially funny. But it does have an amiable sort of charm.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Oct 31, 2018
Loud, brash, and almost entirely laugh-free.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Oct 30, 2018
For all the gung ho fx and severed limbs, this sloppy horror comedy under delivers on both shocks and laughs.
