Someone Great Reviews
What did I just watch (it’s not even over). chat, who produced this. who invested their money into it? The actors are like good (with an exception) but it just like- the script, the random fast motion, the zoom in on the weird boyfriend’s butt clench? I honestly just watched all of it to hate watch, like I got a bad vibe five minutes in. I am so sorry universe. I am usually not this negative or leave hate comments like this, but I just need to put this into the universe because holy freak what did i just watch… I am so sorry again </3 I seriously feel so baddddd but this is cathartic and part of my healing journey. Peace and love to those involved in the making of this movie, but encountering professional failure builds character.
Amazing and refreshing so much emotions in one movie. Love how she’s grieving her relationship and how millennial it is. Great music.
this movie made me cry so hard. i know people say its overrated or rush but honestly if youve been through any break up this hits you hard. think about the movie if it was your relationship and you will understand the message of the movie
The script is a mess.
one of the worst movies ive ever watched. i was seriously cringing the whole time, i could barely get through it.
It's definitely over-rated. I found it superficial and mediocre. The cast was meh and the story wasn't quite original. Just another not so funny rom-com. I shed a few tears but not because of the greatness of the movie but because of the timing.
Not funny at all, superficial and boring!
One of the worst movies i've ever seen.
It takes a special movie to make St. Elmo's Fire look like a classic. Someone Great follows three insufferable intersectional millennials as they squander their 20s pursuing hedonistic pleasures and dead-end relationships. I imagine a movie that checked in on them 10 years later would be very depressing indeed. This could be seen as a cautionary tale if the movie didn't seem to agree with these horrendous characters' worldview. The values depicted in this movie are the inverse of what would be adaptive for society or leading a good life. Almost every joke fell flat and nearly every line of dialog made me cringe, and I felt embarrassed for the actors.
A film about love, getting over love, commitment, and the power of friendship.
B- breakup film nice to watch to move through feelings. Could have developed the main romance more while not necessarily the focus. It was nice to see friendship elevated as well as a B-story with a queer couple.
“sensational and hilarious. a sexy and lovable cast. a true New York City film. the cinematography is flawless. I could watch it again and again.”
The actresses in this movie were cringe and it ruined the whole movie for me, each scene they were doing something weird. Good camera and lighting work
Boring, I had to fast forward, and even the end was painful. The Hispanic girl is a good actress though.
Fun summer Flick about friends and relationships. also Taylor Swift based her Song Death by a thousand cuts on this Movie and it reminds me of 2019 the year this movie came out really the best movie to have had before the pandemic. made me laugh and cry. A fun watch.
This movie is the most refreshing and relatable thing I have ever seen. If you want to feel good Or even AMAZING watch this film girl. 10/10 my favourite film, it's genius and I love every moment of it. We need more films like this. Watch it on your own or with your girls!
It's odd. Break up is too tiring. Who would have the energy for "neon classic" after the collapse of a relationship of 9 years. I think most women would be crying in their bathrooms for days and then just move away of that city and look forward to the future instead of wasting energy on useless stuff.
Can't believe the good reviews. This movie is rampant with drug use, drinking, and sex. The plot is weak and the story unfocused. The main character is taking a job in another city and her boyfriend breaks up with her. That's about it. The target audience is probably teen/young adult, though I watched it with my 22 year old daughter and she did not like it either. Find something else to watch.
This break-up film is great because it has everything: it's a little bit sad, as it should be, but also has funny moments, portrays real situations and friendships, shows personal growth and the main focus is NOT to replace the man for another - let's face it, this would've ended differently if it'd been made in the 1990s -, it has representativity without making a big deal about it, and it's overall designed to be a feel-good film. Oh, and the soundtrack is also pretty good.
