I have been a Catholic my whole life. Catholic school and practice till this day. So over 50 years. Anyone who is interested in the greatest story, the full 10 hour series of The Bible is the way to go. I watch the Son of God on holidays as my refresher. LOL. It is a shorten version of the 10 hour mini-series put into about 3 hours. So if you are getting into Catholicism/Christianity , then the mini-series. If you are a life long Catholic/Christian the Son of God is done very well in itself. Also children and teens can watch age appropriate version of the Jesus story on YouTube meant for little ones and tweens.

Low budget for sure. Hard to watch they keep making stuff up for a Fake bible.

The cast is excellent, especially the actor playing Jesus, and production design amazing. This is the story, I highly recommend this film!!

The potential of the movie with the over the top beginning from Genesis to just before the birth of Yeshua gave the impression that this was going to be a very big film. But once the 3 kings paid homage to a newborn the potential went downhill. It tended to jumble a lot of the scenarios together, which I'm use to, but in a way that seemed to distract from the actual story. All in all, I felt it could have been SO much more but it was a watchable movie. There have been some the the manipulation of the story and the acting have forced me to watch something else even if it were an old Batman serial.

In the Holy Land, the Roman occupation has produced a cauldron of oppression, anxiety and excessive taxes levied upon the Jewish people. The idea behind this movie moved me a lot, but it was a movie with really satisfying expectations

Definitely not the Passion. Too many inaccuracies to take it as a serious depiction of the life of Christ. Loved all the non Jewish accents.

This is a great depiction of Jesus sacrifice for our sins I for one will never hate and belittle any film of the biblical telling of God except for Exodus of God's and Kings so in accurate and Noah as well was in accurate both films were altered from the truth God tells us but Son of God does not change a thing about the truth and Word of God

Beautiful movie. A must see movie. Love it.

Clearly the director and or writer of this movie cannot read. Creative license is one thing but to desecrate the Holy Word of God is sinful. The are things throughout this movie that are blatantly false. Don't believe me? Read the account yourselves. Shameful.

It may not be the quality of Passion of Christ, may not aim to convert any but just good storytelling and brings back so many Sunday School story memories

Too many errors and unnecessary violent scenes. I did like the scene where Matthew is called to be a disciple, but found most of the movie disjointed, boring, and over-dramatic at times. I didn't make it past the beginning part of the resurrection of Lazarus (which was so full of errors...too many to ignore or tolerate).

When it comes to religious films / miniseries people seem to like "the last temptation of Christ" :( - Realistic series where you learn a little more of what was the life and work of Jesus.

For those who are expecting a repeat of the Mel Gibson movie it is not guys. This is something different but the same portrayal, and it was an exceptional portrayal of the life of Jesus, I appreciate that it showed all sides of the story and incorporated Jesus main followers. This is not " Passion Of The Christ " but it stills delivers a good well told story. As that being said I give " Son Of God " a C-.

This movie was awesome, tells the storey of the gospels of Jesus. From his miracles, to him being betrayed, the crucifixion and resurrection. It's a beautiful movies, very well acted and honestly didn't deserve the critical bashing it got.

Don’t listen to anything Rotten Tomatoes says. They are getting paid to give bad reviews in any movie the majority of people like. This movie is beautifully portrays the life and ministry of Jesus Christ and I love it a lot! It makes me appreciate more that he is our Savior. 😊

Very Moving. Diogo is the perfect Jesus. None could ever play Him so perfectly. Loved it.
