Haha! Total waste of a horror film. I thought Princess Leia was going to have a bigger role in this. Nope. Just two cameos with no significant impact on the plot.

La moda de rehacer clásicos del terror ha hecho que algunas películas regresen del olvido y The House On Sorority Row no fue la excepción. En este caso, tenemos una versión que más como una recreación, se siente más bien como un reinicio que narra la trama de la película original de una manera diferente, dejando aún lado la época en que transcurre. Sorority Row aparenta ser un slasher, pero esta película se siente más como un thriller. La trama al principio se siente como una historia de venganza como en la versión original, pero eso después cambia. La película tiene buena producción, escenas de muerte bien hechas sin la necesidad de ser muy explícitas, hay escenas fascinantes y existen algunos guiños a la película original. Aun así, es una película con un aura diferente y aunque llega a tener gags de humor negro, no es distinta a otras películas de esta índole que siempre tienen adolescentes demasiado fiesteros o demasiadas hormonas. La versión original era un tanto predecible, pero tenía una cierta sutileza y un concepto interesante detrás. Esta película, por otro lado, no es tan predecible y llega a ser intrigante, pero al final llega a sentirse cliché con algunas cosas que generan dudas o no tienen mucho sentido. Sin olvidar mencionar que la joven Maggie parece estar solo de adorno sin haberla hecho participar más en la trama. Al final, Sorority Row es solo un thriller más que puede ofrecer un rato de intriga en la pantalla, pero es una película distinta en comparación con su predecesora. Mi calificación final para esta película es un 7/10.

This was nothing more than a B-rated run of the mill slasher movie. The acting was bad and the story was very predictable. The girls were pretty though.

Bottom of the barrel acting with bottom of the barrel one dimensional characters, terrible dialogue, no chemistry, no charm, too many characters, and literally I could not remember who was who in this because of how much they blended in. The editing is terrible, the pacing matches the acting. It is not hyperbole to say I wanted this over in the first 5 minutes because of how unlikeable and mean spirited the main characters are. Add in some horrifically bad cinematography with terrible shaky POV and up close shots that are terribly lit and at most points you can't tell what is going on. Over the top kills that are ridiculous with no suspense, terrible editing where kills just happen and a terrible villain reveal that makes no sense and I barely remember the guy to begin with and you get an atrocious excuse for a horror movie. And don't forget the classic pointless cheap jump scares, tons of bad taste nudity, and subpar music. This is borderline offensive because of how dumb this is. Stay away.

I'm a Slasher Addict 100%. I'll take any slasher that I can get. This movie is a wonderful Sorority Slasher — it has a good look to it, the acting is great; the kills are fantastic; it has an exceptional, and unique weapon.

Disengage your brain completely from this one.

I can't really hate a film that was advertised as below average from the jump.

Sometimes predictable and bland, other times mindless fun and attention grabbing. Sorority Row surprisingly has enough unique violence and humor to satisfy certain fans..but doesn’t stick its landing either.

If you ignore the official horror label and see this as a horror comedy it's definitely worth a watch. There's one line in the movie which always cracks me up and remains one of my favorite "horror" movie quotes.

Memo To Horror Filmmakers: If you want an audience to care about your characters, best not make them generic, one-dimensional, loathsome j-holes with flawless hair, makeup, & costumes in an improbable, over-stylized borefest. #nitrosMovieChallenge

Had a great time, it's so much fun!

I actually really enjoyed this movie. It has that early 2000's cheese, yes, but I thought it was fun, funny, quick and intense, good makeup, decent gore. Does it come to change and revolutionize the genre? Absolutely not. But for a slasher fan like me, it's more than average.

This was a pleasant surprise. It's not a genre masterpiece, this is pretty much brain candy, but that's not a bad thing -- it's a fun little thriller with an interesting plot that moves along quickly and kept me guessing. Lead actresses did a good job, and Carrie Fisher's role was a treat.

It's pretty derivative but I liked the sorority scenes.

Another horror movie about a bunch of college girls running from a masked killer caused from their own doing. This film is not horrifically bad but it does have all of the cliché stereotypes are all horror movies of this genre fall into. The deaths are at least semi-creative here using a tire iron as the murder weapon so there are some very fun creative new ways for the killer to attack and chase after the characters. The acting is decent, all the girls do a great job with their roles and All just come across as all the college stereotypes. The one thing that this film could’ve used as a little more core and blood I feel like a lot of the kills are done off screen and then you just see the final result which is kind of disappointing. The best part of the film is a small cameo from Carrie Fisher who plays the house mom at the sorority, and she has some great lines and set pieces. This just follows the generic horror formula but At least brings a creative new weapon to play with.

It is an effective and sometimes darkly funny horror film. It took pieces of the original and made a far better film.

A remake of a pretty decent 80's slasher. This movie completely misses the mark on humour, thrills and horror. The acting is good apart from that chic from The Hills (why?). The dialogue was horrible and that twist ending was also a huge let down. Give this Sorority a miss.

Mindless slasher film with bad acting and unlikable characters that you really didn't mind when they got killed off. Kind of rooting for the killer in this one.

Great remake. The one liners are hilarious. The ending is a shocker. Well acted great horror/comedy. Leah Pipes steals the movie.

A great time! Have seen five times and still not old.
