Spinster Reviews
If you like acting that resembles "giving up" with a hefty dose of "why am I here", this is a great movie. Much like her comedy, its obvious that her style is disinterested ambivalence mixed with narcolepsy.
A akward and fun dry co.edy with little energy and heavy on the satire and light on character. It relates more to adults than you'd think might be realistic and haunting woth a splash of visual magic.
This is one of those films you put on when you're bored at least that's what I thought but honestly I was really impressed with it. I was so happy with the ending and I really feel this is a must see from a woman's point of view. The main character is a little blasé but she is at the same time like able.
I assumed that about 15 min into the movie that I was not going to enjoy Chelsea's character but quickly warmed up to her mundane, somewhat sarcastic humor. She's 39 and single in the movie and Ok with it... which you don't get to see in movies very often but doesn't lack a very happy ending. I really loved the movie and wish there were more like it.
Entertaining. It was nice to see a story that didn't go the predictable route, though it seemed it might.
This is what you need in 2021. It is fresh and also funny and it takes you on a fun adventure of life's ups and downs. Good Vibes Daily
Spinster is a funny and nuanced movie. Sure, some of the jokes and commentary surrounding the simple existence of a nearing middle age single woman are relatively well worn territory, but it is all done really well here. The entire movie hangs on the charm of Chelsea Peretti who completely embodies her character and is very fun to watch. The movie never completely gives into clichés but doesn't sidestep a traditional happy ending. All in all, this is a far better than adequate dramedy that simultaneously doesn't do much to transcend its peers.
Charming, great progression of the lead.
I get where it was trying to go, but it just never got there. The main character was just too dislikable.

A lovely gentle life affirming story. After seeing chelsie Peretti in Brooklyn 99 I was expecting some mad comedy. It was completely opposite, measured and heartwarming performance.
