Just the greatest piece of Anime-Art ever created

Love this film. The animation is amazing and the story is quite nice. Where as it lacks some of the action I like in other Ghibli films it makes up for it in funny moments and brilliant characters.

A beautiful, dazzling must see again. The story of a 10 year old girl who loses her parents and gets strewn into a world of some very confusing things. From the heartfelt moments to the tearful ones it is beautifully animated and all the most weird and wonderful.

Spirited Away is the first Japanese animated movie I watched. The movie tells the fantasy story of Chihiro. She and her family get lost in a strange world of spirits. To save her parents, she has to work at the witch's bathhouse. The story is interesting and easy to follow. The characters are very special. Chihiro becomes braver and stronger throughout the movie. The scenes are beautiful with bright colors. I like Spirited Away because it’s exciting and has a good message about being brave and kind.

All Time Classic. The world reminds me of something crazy like a Tim Burton type of crazy looking sometimes nightmare fueled characters done in anime. It's a very memorable world filled with just as memorable characters. Everything about the story is first rate and the craft matches across the board. My only complaint is there's so much symbolism and meaning in this that it's almost overload. It's impossible to soak everything up that this is conveying about coming of age and exploring a new world. It kind of reminds me of the character arc of Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird. Even if you don't get everything the whole thing is such a memorable journey visually and it's hard not to get immersed in the world. And even at it's core it's still a pretty simple fantasy adventure to enjoy at the most simple level. Everyone should give this a try once.

This movie is a breathtaking masterpiece that blends fantasy, adventure, and coming-of-age themes into a deeply moving narrative created by Hayao Miyazaki. This Japanese animated film, produced by Studio Ghibli, follows a young girl named Chihiro as she stumbles into a mysterious spirit world while moving to a new home with her parents. As they are transformed into pigs due to their greed, Chihiro must navigate this surreal world, working at a magical bathhouse run by the witch, Yubaba, in order to save her family and find her way back home. The animation is nothing short of spectacular. Miyazaki’s signature hand-drawn style with intricate details and fluid movement, makes every scene visually mesmerizing. The rich color palette varies between warm, inviting tones in peaceful moments and eerie, darker hues in suspenseful scenes. The characters are wonderfully complex. Chihiro, my favorite character, begins as a timid and somewhat whiny child but grows into a brave and compassionate protagonist. Haku, the enigmatic boy who aids her, has a tragic backstory that unfolds beautifully throughout the film. Yubaba is both intimidating and oddly comical, while No-Face, a silent spirit with an insane hunger, serves as a fascinating metaphor for greed and loneliness. Each character is unique. They have been brought to life through expressive animation and voice performances that add depth and emotion to their personalities. Another great thing of this movie that needed to be mention in the soundtrack “One Summer’s Day” by Joe Hisaishi that is hauntingly beautiful. It perfectly capture the film’s atmosphere and enhance the emotional weight of Chihiro’s journey. Sound design also plays a crucial role, from the ambient hum of the bathhouse to the mystical whispers of the spirit world. Beyond its stunning visuals and enchanting music, Spirited Away carries profound themes of self-discovery and the dangers of materialism. The storytelling is layered, allowing both children and adults to interpret its deeper meanings differently. The script is poetic yet natural, ensuring the dialogue remains engaging and thought-provoking. Overall, Spirited Away is a cinematic treasure that transcends age and culture. Its breathtaking animation, storytelling, and unforgettable characters make it a must-watch for anyone who appreciates artful filmmaking. I highly recommend it to those who seek a film that is both visually stunning and emotionally resonant. Thus, this film became one of the best film I have ever watched. I really liked the graphical quality of this movie, but the story is as random as ChatGPT on an LSD trip.

Balm for the soul, haute cuisine for the visual center of the brain. There is so much love for detail in the animations and backgrounds. You can't help but be amazed at the two-hour running time. Like no other, Miyazaki knows how to address and educate young and old on the same and different levels, setting off an entertaining firework of ideas.

Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away is a celebrated masterpiece of animated cinema for good reason. In this coming-of-age odyssey, Miyazaki once again combines profound storytelling with breathtaking visual sophistication. Miyazaki's incomparable attention to detail is evident in every frame - be it in Chihiro's hesitant steps, the ornate architecture of the bathhouse or the nuanced facial expressions of its enigmatic inhabitants. Every gesture, no matter how small, contributes to the illusion of a living, breathing world that is as strange as it is familiar. Equally essential is the concept of Ma - the art of the meaningful pause. Miyazaki allows moments of silence, lets the story breathe and gives weight to even the most inconspicuous moments: the gentle blowing of the grass in the wind, a quiet meal, a lingering gaze. These pauses make Spirited Away not just a movie, but an experience - one that resonates, touches and gets deep under the skin.

This movie's wide and whacky array of different characters add to its incredible story. I had so much fun watching this movie, and it is definitely one of the greatest movies to be produced by Studio Ghibli.
