Great movie, sadly not known in west so a hidden jewel.

Excellent creature Sci fi which evokes the Soviet era very stylishly. Strong cast and good effects.

I went into this with moderate expectations, but I ended up spellbound. Each reveal felt executed perfectly. While the ending didn't go as I would have liked, I still think about this movie often. They managed to evoke a surprising amount of emotion for a movie with such a terrifying monster.

Absolutely brilliant Russian horror movie. If you haven’t seen it, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Adoro esses filmes um tanto quanto esquisito e bizarro, como não amar alienígenas fofinhos que adoro se deliciar com estupradores de criancinhas (!?!?), excetuando a polêmica o filme é adorável, ficção científica tem sempre licença poética para extravasar a imaginação, relevamos a parte fisiológica, ignoramos a ciência e curtimos a bizarrices com gosto... Bom produção russa, misto de ação, mistério, flerta com o terror, entrega um romance raso, e um mini plot twist, tudo adoravelmente cativante.

Interesting setting for a sci fi film, great acting and pacing with some pleasant surprises.

Nothing happens and they seem to have reused the alien from prometheus. Painfully slow paced. The characters were somewhat interesting. PLOT??? lol Pathetic!!! I give such low rating because so many inflated ratings! This site is a lie.

Like a lot of these kinds of thrillers the most obvious reference point is "Alien" however "Sputnik" finds some unique ways to shake up that movie's plot structure. Also, for the first time in a long while, the creature design matches the great concept.

The first part of the film is certainly impressive and evokes the dark and mysterious atmosphere of Ridley Scott's Alien. In the second part, the narrative becomes more conventional (and also less logical) and the film loses part of its initial impact. But in the end, the balance is quite positive.

Great plot and nice twists, no silly characters like in "life". Character development is nice and it still leaves room for the creature and some pretty cool sequences with it. I loved that the monster is very strong but not ridiculously op.

I don't know, maybe I've seen it all before. It was good don't get me wrong, but for that specific genre it didn't really keep me fully captivated. Still worth the watch if you are into sci fi / horror

Awesome space movie! Different than most space movies out there. The acting was great, suspense was there and ending was even better! Love love loved it . Definite watch

A simple horror sc fi film

Egor Abramenko's sci-fi "Sputnik (2020)" is similar to Ridley Scott's "Alien (1979)," but with a twist. The "Sputnik" creature, which the director offers no origins, is symbiotic with its host whereas the "Alien" creature is embryonic. The movie has a very unique and original storyline, which will keep your attention and interest to the final scene.

The movie has a good beginning, then somewhere in the middle it goes off the rail.

The only interesting thing in the movie is to feel and learn a bit about the communist era. The story itself is very weak.

Loved this movie so much. Brilliantly done. Awesome plot twists. The movie flies by. Not a shot that didn't need to be there.

This film at least had the feel of being made in Russia and being seperated from all the conventions of more mainstrean "Western" science fiction films which was very refreshing to see. It seemed to have a different critera for what makes a film successful along those lines as well, and I found myself repeatedly asking the question- "How would communist Russia allow this "anti- authoritarian" scene through the net" which left an impression of a perhaps huge and largely unknown realm of modern Russian art and creativity that flourishes without the Western expectation of censorship and gevernment control. The premise of the film is an old one but was extrapolated with enough originality and intelligence to create interest, the performances were good, and creature make up, design, and animation was excellent, quite compelling, also were the medical and biological explanations. There was however a certain shallowness to the plot and also to the characters to some extent which diminished the effectiveness of the film. It raise some really interesting questions in regard to living with a monster because you love someone... and how far in the name of love some horror could be taken and tolerated, or even embraced.
