Stardust Reviews
Still as amazing and enchanting on rewatch 18 years later as it was when it first came out. This is a classic with lovable characters, a fun story and true love. Like a Modern Princess Bride and with a star studded cast, some in their prime and some before they were studded.
This is my wife’s and my favorite adventure and romantic movie. We have watched this movie countless times for a romantic evening. Wonderful storytelling and great performances. Grab a drink and someone special to watch this timeless classic.
defintively the best film of this century. i have never nor will ever see another film which encapsulates whimsy in a truer sense.
Utterly iconic in every sense, whimsy can't be matched nor topped. The film of a generation.
Brilliant, fun old school fairy tale full of romance, adventure and swashbuckling with great heroes and villains!
De Niro and Pfeiffer having a blast in this rich fantasy world with lightning catching pirates a and cursed princes.
Fantasy classic with a great cast, fantastic Neil Gaiman story and the film stays true to the book. Great special effects and scenery and Robert De Niro is wonderful.
Absolutely a classic! A beautiful romance, whimsy, adventure, and just the right amount of humour!
I absolutely love this movie. No it’s not perfect, but it’s whimsical, fun, and pretty. It’s silly, charming, heartwarming, and good. If you like fantasy movies then there’s zero reason you wouldn’t love this. I only deducted half a star bc of some spotty cgi and some dialogue. Otherwise, personal favorite of mine.
Really good, Robert DeNiro really surprised me in this role.
Es de los pocos casos que la película se me hizo mejor que el libro y aporta mucho al mundo en que se basa.
Not my type of favorite story. It has its moments... But very few, actually
Definitely very underrated. Nothing incredible but a solid watch for sure.
LOOOOVE this movie. The cast is shockingly stellar. So many great people in this. Just a few burning questions: why didn't Tristan's father try to rescue Una in 18 years? Why didn't Una use her supply of Babylon candles to escape Ditchwater Sal (love everything about that name). How did Tristan learn how to be badass with a sword under 1 week--seemed like he was on the ship for months? Why weren't there any consequences for killing a unicorn? Every bit of lore about unicorns warn against killing them except this one. I wish they could turn this into a series, go darker, and really explore all the characters. Everyone was way too interesting to do justice in only 2 hours. My biggest issues 1/the tone. It was Disney-dark and too silly for the themes being explored. 2/ animal cruelty. I just wish there was a way to tell the story without it.
It wasn't bad but it wasn't that good either. Watch if you're bored and there's nothing else on.
The blend of adventure, romance, and magic swept me away to a world of wonder and imagination.
SPECTACULAR! Love this genre, this incredibly talented cast and I'm cracking up over Robert De Niro...hilarious! This is a gem.
How hard is it to do consistent volume control? Between autistic family members and for consideration for others I was constantly adjusting volume between "can't hear it" and "that's going to make someone angry". I regret the effort I had to go through just to make it to the end of this movie, and how irritated I was by the time I was finally able to put down the remote and walk away.
I really like this movie and it's end credits theme which is Rule The World by Take That
