A star-studded movie with a great story!

Unlike the other critics I think that this movie is a great time pass and it does the job when you are tired of all the complex movies out there and just want something to cleanse the pallet

Just a little rom-com mixed in with sports and rich-poor class action. If you take it at that, it's okay.

This movie is plain terrible. It's not only unfunny, but that was it's only quality it tried to make. The movie is stupid, don't watch unless you're curious.

I'll preface my review by admitting that this movie is by no means artistically sound and falls victim to cliches and lousy writing. However, when I found out this movie had a tomato score of 8% I couldn't believe it. I mean cmon people. You're gonna tell me that you sat through this movie watching pretty sick baseball scenes, fat jokes galore, Freddie Prinze switching in and out of accents, and Jessica Biel coming out of a pool in slo-mo and was not entertained? I refuse to believe that and officially disown those who contributed to the 8% score. Also, shout out to my girl Didi for breaking Bru's slump

About as cheesy as it gets lol . Like a hallmark movie with a baseball theme in the background. Has a heart and couple of chuckles :) as a baseball fan (and Jessica Beil may have been the best part :)

There are funny lines that are laughably triggering with recognized comedic energy alongside a predated dynamic as the film's main selling point and rare ideologically delivered occasions of points across, but the strategic play in between two genres of sports and romance becomes simply predictable in repetitive buildup questionably unexplained threads. (B-)

This movie kept itself from being a bad rom-com by keeping a lot of attention on the sports, as I am and will always be a sucker for sports movies. The relationship between Biel & Prinze was so unlikely and bad that even the movie's dialogue pokes fun at it. The couple of times where the movie's comedy rose to the level of chuckleworthy were extremely isolated and a lot of the comedy was distastefully directed toward fat women despite their example of one not even being very big. Biel was definitely hot in this though, and they did a good job making her a swimmer for the obvious purpose of showing off her assets.

I actually kinda digged this movie. Yes it's cheesy and dumb but in the end it's a fun movie.

So many twists and turns, I never expected what would come next! Amazing story line complete with amazing performances from everyone involved. Still hopeful for a sequel

This is the best baseball movie.

I had fond memories of watching this movie as a kid (10 or 11). I was hoping to once again to get sucked into the engrossing story of semi-semi pro baseball player Ryan Dunn. Yes you read that correctly... Much to my delight I was able to recapture some of the magic. Admittedly I had to farm for some enjoyment amidst a barren landscape of wooden performances. Freddie Printz juniors performance is laughable for all the wrong reasons. It seems like he has a hard time conveying more then one emotion per 30 seconds. Much like the terrible editing his acting seems choppy and out of place at times. He never fully commits to the accent he starts the movie with. It pops back up from time to time like a good call back. If that doesn't keep you entertained it's packed with cliches and cameos from 90's greats such as Mathew Lillard and Britney Murphy. The plot is so thin it'll keep you guessing... exactly what is going to happen. If you're looking for a good laugh I highly recommend checking this out against.

7/15/2017 (3): I like this movie and don't quite understand the poor ratings. A really good cast (Hello Jessica Biel!!) and a fun entertaining story.

What a time to be alive? The late 90s when everyone just felt safer, cellphones where no where to be seen, and the internet wasnt really taken off yet. Collage allstar story that featured at the time Freddie Prince, all the young girls wanted their panties on his floor and Jessica beil who high school boys like to watch get out pool in slow mo because porno was wack at that time and scarce. Young freddie gets rode hard by his dad in a bad way and brittany murphy in a good way. To quote his catcher (also his goofy side kick on scooby doo) You try to mow her lawn and now you want to her mow her lawn". Lawn boy is inspired to play ball by jessica's tush and to chase his dreams. His big brother and childhood friends who always attend his games give him much need great speechs whens it crunch time to help deliver curve balls that although fredie is left handed will break as if he is right handed :) Fun to root against his flame throwing blonde dyded curled punk as he reeks of d-bag odor. Enjoy this baseball classic kids

Cape Cod baseball player and yard boy falls in love with local rich girl in a teen ripoff of "Bull Durham ".

Ok plot but the chemistry between FPJ and Jessica Biel made me smile after the movie was over.
