Super Troopers 2 Reviews
Not as good as the first one, but I still enjoy this. Farva was still a dick & the rest guys were stupid as usual. Plus having Sasso, Levine, Lowe & the beautiful Emmanuelle Chriqui was absolutely great.
Definitely missed the bar that the first movie set but that often seems to be the case in funny movies that go for a sequel, they try too hard. Certainly a few funny parts though.
What the heck was this supposed to be?
Hilarious from start to finish, the only reason I'm giving it 4.5 and not 5 stars is because.... It's dumb. But it's supposed to be dumb. Broken Lizard always delivers with the idiotic humor, and we love them for it!
A piss-poor follow-up to the hilarious 2001 comedy. Bar a few amusing moments, it not only fails to recreate the original's randomness, it fails to be funny in general. There's no spark in the acting and the script feels like a string of underwhelming bits, repetitive jokes and cringey dialogues that occasionally gets violently interrupted by a basic, unoriginal, predictable plot. It's disappointing that this was the best they could do and that their strained efforts show every step of the way.
It was ok overall with its juvenile comedy, but it was funny to see the amount of Canadian vs. American jokes as they poked fun at each other.
The original was just that, original. This one? Not so much. Terrible caricature Canadian accents get old quickly, the jokes have all been done before, rehashed plotlines and in some scenes even the actors really seemed detached and just going through the motions. Watch it for free if you can, otherwise skip it.
EXQUISITE AND HILARIOUS!: A must-see film, properly shown by the predecessors of Super Troopers I; It holds a significant game plan with lots of comedic twists and turns that you wouldn't believe until you actually watched it. This particular movie was not only Original despite being a sequel but was extremely comedic and pleasant to the eyes to watch. I was definitely having more laughs with the second film of the series rather than the first and I can not wait until there is a trilogy, Super Troopers definitely deserves a trilogy.
You Have to realize this is a separate, but equivalent film! Without the first, there would be no second. You need to enjoy the clever wittiness of the second cinematic adventure. You wouldn't ask what's better back to the future one, or back to the future two. Obviously, back to the future is the better film, but you wouldn't have back to the future two without back to the future and what we really want a world with no back to the future two and back to the future three cowboy edition? Do we really want a world with no Rob Lowe as a Canadian mayor? The answer is no. The wittiness and throwback jokes really come full circle in this long-awaited sequel. I appreciate the time they took to craft a genuine sequel to their cult classic . The Danny Devito seen, is arguably one the funniest scenes I've witnessed in in a hot minute! *it's the same *ucking guy*
Best cop comedy's ever made. anything by broken lizard is the best. Well a bit raunchy. but will make you laugh and take you out of that low. As always Good Vibes Daily
Super Troopers 2 has a feel of the original. The fact this movie almost didn't happen is amazing. It was only able to be because of fundraising the funds to make the film. Making the goal and then added as well helped this move be what it needed to be in order to make a sequel be better than the original. The original cast Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, Erik Stolhanske, and Brian Cox return. Keeping the fun of the original and able to surpass the original which isn't easy!
If the first film was an unexpected delight carried entirely by the chemistry of its cast, the sequel answers the question of what happens if you dial that chemistry down by half. I laughed a few times but only left the film understanding why the studio was unwilling to back the project.
Watching this reminded me of playing through Pokémon Sword in that none of it was very memorable for me and I preferred the earlier version, but once it was over I could look back and realize that the jokes/new starters were roughly on par with the original, they were just a similar flavor to the ones I had nostalgia for. There is some deterioration in quality here but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be (or easily could've been if Zoolander 2 is anything to go by). They made Farva a less-annoying character and they had a similar style to the first where the jokes felt organic and natural to the plot instead the plot feeling like it was shaped around jokes they intended to include. The portrayal of the guys taking the mystery drugs was slightly annoying in its lack of realism as they come off like a group of guys that've surely done acid before and yet portrayed it incorrectly here, similar to the Deuce Bigalow sequel misrepresenting what smoking weed is like. They had a guy roid rage off of taking a single pill when everyone knows it took Chris Benoit practically a whole lifetime of shots in the ass for him to snap. The Hawking joke was in poor taste given the release date and probably should've been cut, but there were some serious highlights like the DeVito jokes and them electrifying Farva. In all, I think they escaped failure in their sequel efforts and I'd watch a third one if it's ever made.
Better than the first one.
Ok mediocre sequel starring the same people. I wasn't feeling this movie for some odd reason. I really liked the original but something about this. The jokes are not as good as the first but a good attempt.
Fist one was funny. This one was real bad
Trash. Everything that made Super Troopers 1 great was just remixed and run into the ground in the sequel. The whole Canadian setpiece was horrid and relied on knowledge of Canadian comedy to even be relevant. For reference: ST1 is on my top 10 list of best movies of all time (Beerfest is also on that list), but this dumpster fire sequel should have never been made. I don't see how anybody who thoroughly enjoyed the first movie would find any kind of comedic relief here. The movie just isn't funny at all.
