Man of Steel Reviews
Fought sleep 4 times with this. Zack is horrible director. Bland acting.
This second cinematic reboot of Superman offers a high degree of thrills worthy of the character's power. However, Clark Kent's rather bleak characterization doesn't fit the comic book mythos. I applaud the production's attempt to take things in a different direction, but overall, this superpowered adventure should be a lighter and more hopeful affair.
Man of Steel is a movie that completely disregards the origin and purpose of superman and his morally righteous nature whilst slightly unlikable is a key part of Supermans character and taking that away from him leaves him as a blank unlikable character with no redeemable qualities. The romantic relationship between Lois and Superman leaves much to be desired because of how shallow it is.
It has always disappointed me to see this film with such a low score for a film worthy of a high 90%. This film is not only paired with some of Hans Zimmers best scores but also perfectly executed a Superman origin. This film holds (in my opinion) the best version of all Superman related elements (Story, Action and Cast) to date!
Henry Cavill is the best runner up to Christopher Reeves I have seen. I’m very happy with this movie. Lois Lane could have been cast better but we can’t have everything.
One of the best superman origin movie. Cavill is the comic accurate superman and the movie is comic accurate. Screenplay 7.5/10, Action 8.5/10, Characters 9/10. The flight scene was awesome one of the best movie superhero.
The only problem I had with this film is that Henry Cavill did not do a good portrayal of Clark Kent, but he was an amazing Superman. I really enjoyed this film, and it's one of the best superhero origin movies I've ever seen. I definitely recommend it for superhero fans!
It's good enough to start a franchise.
After so many years, i still remember how it made me feel, i was so emotionally connected with superman in this masterpiece
This movie’s reviews do not do it justice. Man of Steel is by far the best Superman movie of all time. It adds an element of realism to the characters upbringing and portrays Krypton in a more mature manner. If you enjoy stale, uninteresting Superman stories that are limited by their access to modern technology (Reeves movies) then Man of Steel is not for you.
A very good movie with a good story and great action scenes.
Epic movie! Henry Cavill is perfect as the man of steel!
Man of Steel is a movie where the whole is less than the sum of the parts. I thought the gritty realistic backstory and modernism were tremendous. For me continuous high octane action puts me to sleep. There was a potential classic here but it succumbed to market forces. The story is so well known and iconic it is extremely difficult to work with. That the first half does so is a testament to all involved. I love Henry Cavill as Superman. Best ever. Remote, brooding, confident. Great ending. Too bad there was no Man of Steel two. Gotta churn out those popcorn flicks.
Was not very good Poorly written, story has plot holes that can't be unseen, Henry Calvin is only good thing in a otherwise terrible movie
This film is criminally underrated with it's thrilling action sequences and character developement. This film is often seen as divisive but offers a great atmosphere of what the story is trying to be and does establish it. The soundtrack is great here and as well and serves well crafted emotional connections to viewers.
Just an opinion not so much a review I think it's a decent enough movie about Superman feel like it unfortunately was brought down by the Batman franchise at the time as it seemed like they were trying to create a cinematic universe to compete with Marvel this should have been a standalone movie would have benefited from a degree of independence.
My favorite live action Superman movie and this was my introduction to Superman when I was younger.Has some problems but not bad.
Man Of Steel is the greatest comic book movie of all time. THE GOOD Where do I start? First this has the second best soundtrack in a movie ever. Only behind BVS. The cinematography was absolutely insane and some of the best ever. The pacing was perfect, the casting was unbelievable spot on, Henry Cavill is THE Superman, no one will ever match him. The fighting is second to none, the villains are perfect. The stakes are there and everything pays off with Zod being killed. THE MIXED There was 1 thing that I found kind of eh. Lois lane, I did not love that casting. THE BAD I could not find anything OVERALL Man Of Steel is a very different and darker take on Superman while still being very fun and making you want so much more. This is the greatest comic book movie
This movie was so bad, it took me 12 years to fully process how bad it is. I hated how depressive this superman movie is, if I wanted to watch a gritty depressed superhero movie. I'll just watch The Dark Knight. I will never understand the thought process behind making superman a "badass" instead a symbol of heroism. all I know is that James Gunn's superman will be 100x better.
