Surveillance Reviews
One of the darker films dealing with the subject of corrupt police that one will see. From top to bottom, all the way through the end, a top notch degenerate tale.
I regret giving some bad critics to some low budget movies when i watched this movie.... what a bad plot, i mean it looks like the director was in a resstaurent had some drinks and the said lets do a movid where 2 FBI agents will be the killers... of course his friends laughed and said yeaaaah great idea... the next day the went filming .... it s bad, the characters are paper i was worried about them i hope they had good career after this bad bad ... really bad movie
Felt this was a reasonable watch. It has a promising premise, starts well, interesting format, very well shot (IMHO), and then speeds up towards the end following a big revelation. Could be better but, enjoyable nevertheless.
I quite enjoyed it and I believe it was under-rated. The acting was good and I loved the twists. It was thrilling and exciting even though it was a low budget flick.
Obviously Lynchesque, This modern film noir plays upon the stereotipical fears that permeates consistently throughout the history of hollywood storytelling - authority and untamed depravity. Despite the text book thrills there is enough here to push the genre forward. Strong, diverse female characters, dealing with a mysoginistic society are a welcome addition and then of course there is the western obsession with the ultimate, alternative American Dream - Bonnie and Clyde.
This film is a crime against humanity. Despicable garbage. Not one ounce of intelligence. The so-called "black" humor is clumsily juxtaposed against the grisly violence. An utterly pointless, disgusting pile of excrement. The "twist" in the final act is abhorrent. Not funny, not clever, just nauseating. I never liked David Lynch, and it's apparent that he has passed his genes on to his daughter, whose apparent view of the world is on par with a mentally sick 12 year old kid who is destined to commit a school shooting---just because it's "fun." Well, it's not fun to waste an hour and a half of screen time on the lowest depravity imaginable. Shame on Jennifer Lynch and every actor who agreed to appear in this piece of garbage. Shame on the parents who let their child actor participate in this. Shame on every critic who gave this film a positive review. It's films like this that illustrate how low Hollywood has descended. Do yourself a favor and avoid this, even if you're curious, as I was. Save yourself the regret.
Despite the talented cast the story is slow and uninteresting and the characters underdeveloped.
Fun movie about bad cops. Interesting twist at the end. Jennifer shows she's up to the name "Lynch".
I don't mind seeing the punchline coming for a while. I don't even mind "crazy fucked up" - being that punchline. But if that's the case, said crazy's gotta be earned. Three-dimenaional. I wanna feel its roots. Here though, it just feels kinda feigned, thin, stitched together. Despite a few solid moments.
An FBI agent encounters three would-be victims of a serial killer, all of whom have very different stories of their experiences. The story lacked realism.
Another movie with no real feeling, or good story telling and again no explanation of the motives behind the senseless killings. To add to most recent catalogue of senseless movies I am seeing this year. Acting by Julia Ormond and Bill Pullman are lost, as there is no true essence or depth to the storyline. A waste of good talent.
Sick, twisted and totally inappropriate. At the same time it is about as intense as movies get. I found it impossible to look away. And, of course, Julia Ormond is so good at being so very perversely bad.
I love this movie. I love the craziness the film evokes. You have to watch it till the to end to see how over the top it gets. Directed By jennifer lynch who we all know is the daughter of crazy director David lynch of dune and blue velvet fame. The script is very well done and the acting is great. I have to say Bill Pullman and Julia Ormond of Legends of the fall and First Knight have never been better. Even total recall actor Michael Ironside has a good role for once. This movie is a hoot.
Tightly wound thriller, well worth a watch. No big names, no big egos, just a well written evocative film. Highly recommended.
Surveillance is a very good twisted thriller about to FBI agents that have to know the details of what happened on this highway road words highway cops worked all the problems for passengers on the highway. Very good twisted story good cast Bill Paxton and Julia Ormond. B (2010)
