Long version of what easily could have been an amazing "Dark Mirror" episode. However, after a strong start, it become too sweetly emotional and slowed down a bit too much, just when it was time to climax. Nevertheless, kudos to another powerful performance by Mahershala Ali. Of course, it does beg some ethical and metaphysical issues - in particular, could one say that the same person will actually die twice, but each time will suffer the insecurity and pain of dying? Also, the death of the 1st personality in an isolated, though stunning natural location, is exactly that which makes the departure the hardest, without loved ones around.

A fascinating meditation on existential issues. Very stylish and expertly directed, this is an elegant and deftly acted movie.

Meh - it's a mediocre, unbelievable sci-fi film that looks like it was filmed on the set of an Apple commercial. Things get a bit interesting when Cameron's clone "wakes up" - but overall the film is just one big "what if" question, posed in the most pedestrian of manners.

Mahershala Ali's incredible talents pull this film from beginning to end. The script is not particularly novel nor is there an emotional reveal that is glaringly obvious after the first act. Still, watching Ali is worth the watch - no actor could have done more with so little.

I love this movie! It's insane that Mahershala Ali didn't win an Oscar for this. This is the dream role for a master actor like Mahershala. To me It's just frustrating that it didn't get all the awards it deserves. Especially so more people could find this gem of a story. Thank you Benjamin Cleary, you are an amazing director and I can't wait to see the stories you write and direct in the future.

Absolutely floored by this film. Immaculate and moving the "beer" scene will stay with me for the rest of my life. Outstanding!

It's crazy how these 온라인카지노추천 shows and movies display technology so advanced, so surreal! With that being said, the idea of sending a clone to take your place because of your terminal health conditions is both a blessing and a curse. I can't imagine the thought of watching "something" else live your life while you're dying. On the flip side, you don't have to put your family through the pain of losing you. What an awesome concept of a movie with such a hard decision to make and burden to bear.

Very intriguing idea, but extremely extremely slow… not enough action or moving parts to make that intriguing idea come to fruition for me. Mahershala Ali is excellent as always, Glenn Close too. Just could have been done better.

Amazing movie. Love the concept and love the relationships in the family. A gentle and loving story.

Fantastic performance by Ali! I really enjoyed it and the whole idea behind it!

what a great, sad and still comforting movie. The beer scene in the kitchen really got me, thinking of my own dad. That was the point where it reached the same level as eternal sunshine of the spotless mind to me, somewhat the antagonist to each other, would recommend to any1

The story is unconvincing, but the acting is extremely strong.

Enjoyed it... too bad marriages like that don't really exist but one can dream. Was also thought provoking... but you might think that if they have the tech to do what they did then they could have cured the guy.... but then that would make the movie not possible.... but I digress. Worth a watch.

This film has a Jordan Peele/Black Mirror feel to it. The main plot concept is decidedly unsettling and spooky - its a futuristic sci-fi film set on earth, with a moderate use of CGI. It's quite emotive and somewhat thought provoking. I suppose it reminded me a little of Ex Machina. It's partly a film about memories - questioning their validity, somewhat, I suppose. Authenticity vs artificiality. Suffice to say, it's very much a 'what if?' film. I thought Glenn Close gave a particularly good performance in this too, though overall I feel I shouldn't give it more than my 7/10 rating, as I can't say I delt as enthralled or gripped as I do with other films. However it is still a good film generally, so I'd recommend this if it sounds of interest, yes.

Ali is terrific as a terminally ill father that loves his wife and kid but has a chance to leave them with a copy of himself instead of deserting them through death. Akwafina as the clinic friend, Close as the mastermind - it's a subtle but great film.
