The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Reviews
Hands down one of the best horror remakes ever. Either the first or second best. The storyline was amazing as well as acting, horror, and aesthetic. It does the original a good justice.
This movie is much better than the original better cast better storyline. One of the greatest remakes ever made without question
This is an absolutely fantastic movie. It's a remake of the original, for sure, but it's done in a creative way so that it feels unique and different. And I liked that. It's basically an alternate version of the first film's events, or maybe the first film's opening scroll was talking about this movie's events and this is what really happened? We'll never know. The story is basically the same as the original, so I can't talk much about it, but it's an interesting take that makes Sally, or Erin as she's called in this movie, more independent. In the original, she gets saved by a truck driver and rides off into the sunlight, saved. She steals a car, runs over the sheriff and rides away in this one, which was satisfying because the sheriff sucked. He was so hateable in the best way possible. He was enjoyably evil, basically. Leatherface and his family were also great in this one. It's a much bigger family and feels like the whole town is against the main protagonists, which is a great concept that was executed well. The ending was also great and felt very Blair Witch esque with how the found footage aspect was used. This movie has no sequels but a sequel could be good and work well with how ambiguous the ending is. Maybe a fully found footage sequel? That could work well even if it sounds weird. Overall, a great remake of the original movie and a great movie on its own.
The 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre adopted a grimier filter but is a stable hit or miss for fans of the original and the series. While it still evokes fear and depicts graphic violence, but doesn’t necessarily leave you with the same lasting scars as the original did on audiences. Grading: C+
Quite a nice film, with some stereotypical cliches, but still... it worth your time. My only question is who and why wrote the scenario...
This remake for the classic Texas Chain-Saw Massacre fails to live up to the legacy of its 1974 predecessor, offering a slick, soulless remake that relies heavily on gore and shock value rather than the eerie suspense and atmosphere that made the original a classic. Instead of being truly unsettling and realistic, it often feels like a relentless barrage of grotesque imagery. While there are moments of tension, they are too few and far between to make the film memorable. This version of ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ doesn't capture the raw, realistic and haunting terror of the original, and instead feels like a standard, uninspired slasher flick.
It's a perfect horror movie and it's the best version for me.
Perhaps the best film in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise although its predecessors didn’t set a high bar. Cool characters and effects and I applaud the filmmakers for making Leatherface scary once again!
It's just a bad copy cat of the original, with some original ideas to distinguish it but not enough to validate why it needed to be rebooted in the first place.
This was surprisingly good. There were a few times I was caught off guard by the differences from the original, but at the same time it’s a remake and I appreciate how they changed things around. The atmosphere and set design was cool looking as well.
The second best one in my opinion. 7.2/10.
This is hands down the best texas chainsaw movie and it's wild how negatively reviewed it is.
This is the best remake 💯
Direction was good, the movie's writing and tone and atmosphere and performance was good is one of the best horror remake movie
Truly a horror masterpiece that stands on it's own with the original film.
did we really need this?
An enjoyable enough entry into the series. Dark lighting, nostalgia and well casted charaters makes this watch able to revisit similar storyline from the original.
If you're looking for a legit gory slasher movie look no further. Definitely the best adaptation of the original TCM. R. Lee Ermey aces this one with his stellar performance as the sherif.
This is by the best Texas chain saw Jessica bill and the whole cast got done what needed to be done
