Texas Chainsaw Massacre Reviews

Apr 19, 2025

Most meh movie ever. Didn’t feel any tension and everything was very predictable and just gory. I normally love movies like Scream or Thanksgiving but this was not worth my time, even when it was only 81 minutes.

‏This movie is worth less than half a star. Simply put, the work was very bad. The ending is very bad and absolutely illogical. Skip this movie if you don't want to waste your time

Most of the characters are unlikeable and the likeable ones get killed off first, also i don't like how they tried to make bubba/leatherface supernatural when he's always been portrayed as human. I also don't like where they went with sally's character in the movie, it was like a laurie strode done wrong. It just doesn't make sense for sally's character imo

The casting was awful. Almost all of the characters were unlikeable from the get go. Then you have not one but at least 2 characters who “come back to life” after being brutally attacked by a chainsaw. They were sooooo slow at making decisions it was infuriating. But if you’re looking for something with low expectations there are *some* enjoyable parts.

I actually expected some sort of like continuation to the first movie about this but like, there were so many things wrong with this one and a bunch of stuff that were so questionable? Like, during the introduction, I was so confused when Mel just kept insulting Richter?? For no good reason at all?? It was just confusing and for me made no sense for Mel's character at all cause in the rest of the movie we see she has some strong sense of justice and she isn't as bitchy as she was in the beginning so there was kinda no consistency? And I get that the jumpscares, the gore, and the suspense was scary, but at some point it just became annoying? It got repetitive quick, like I could easily tell who would die next by the middle of the movie. The twists as well, and the fact that somehow Sally survived that one attack from leatherface ??? for that long?? And how she didn't bother to shoot him WHEN she had him in a corner during that one scene??? What??? I can't write coherent reviews, but I genuinely can't express how borderline corny this movie was. At one point during the end, I literally predicted that leatherface would somehow survive two gunshots and a chainsaw to the face while drowning and I was correct like wtf It's a fun slasher movie to like.. watch I guess but if you don't wanna cuss and like get pissed off by all of the characters in the movie just watch something else

This movie is, in my opinion, nowhere near as bad as the reviews say it is. It's actually quite a decent movie. While it's boring at the start and the ending kinda sucks as it's sudden with no build-up, it's decent. And that ending could be redeemed with a sequel. It's got a pretty decent plot, for starters. It's a simple story where Leatherface comes back after The Next Generation since this is, according to the producer and writer, set in the same timeline as the original sequels, and wreaks havoc again. It's decent. It's a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, it doesn't need to be Shakespeare. Also it helps you distance it from the previous movies and helped me forgive Sally's appearance, as she just isn't the same Sally that I know from the 1974 movie. Also Leatherface is pretty good in this. He's more of a slasher akin to Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers, which works for the story this movie is trying to tell, but the presence of the other family members is missed. The first movie, which is the only one I know so far, is focused on Leatherface and his family, after all, with Leatherface being just a part of it. Still a good movie though. Overall, it's not much of a sequel to the original or Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but it's a good movie.

I saw scenes in here that I would never expect from a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie (keyword: bus). This is a solid installment, as it injects some fresh blood into the franchise; and the gore is still brutal, Leatherface is still a son of a gun, and the ending makes sure you remember that! This one made me excited to see more TCM movies in the future, and although I enjoyed this one, I would like the next one to be scarier. --- As a response to all the criticism this film is getting: Out of all the Texas Chainsaw movies that have ever existed, the only one with a good score is the original. Seems like people just want the first one remade! Don't let that stop you from enjoying the rest of the franchise.

This movie was awful.... the director did a terrible job at this "re-make" or "sequel" of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre... they should've left the movie alone cause the 1974 version was perfectly fine, this was demonic. goodbye.

This poor excuse for a 2022 relaunch of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, or as they like to call it, a direct sequel, ultimately fails to deliver another thrilling killing spree. Instead, it becomes this bizarre, idiotic, and Gen Z-oriented entertainment that features characters we don’t care about. There’s no genuine excitement or innovation in this “continuation.” Grading: F

One of the worst horror reboots of all time.

this movie is genuinely, truly, so insanely terrible i made an account to say it.

Jan 1, 2025

This is a poorly executed mess that completely missed the mark. The story lacks any real depth or connection to the gritty terror of the original. The kills are gory, sure, but there’s no suspense or buildup, leaving them hollow and unimpressive. Even the much-hyped "bus massacre" scene, while visually chaotic, feels more like a gimmick than true horror.

Probably the worst movie I've ever seen. I actually made an account so I could post on here for the first time. Don't watch it. There are errors in continuity. Scenes that just cut without resolution and pick up later so you have no idea how the characters got out of the bind they were in. It is so, so, so bad.

Very boring stuff.

Nov 30, 2024

Nope... bad acting. To many horrible dramatic pauses. Everyone who could of killed him just decided not too for some reason. Good gore though

Nov 8, 2024

This is the worst Texas chainsaw massacre movie of them all. There is a giant plot hole, how does Leatherface make it back to his mothers house in that short amount of time? Also, we wanted to see the lady who escaped from him, shotgun Leatherface in the face, but instead, she got chainsawed in half. DO NOT WATCH.

Perfect movie I don't understand the hate the gore was top notch and the twist at the end left my mouth open

Not sure why this movie is getting trashed. To those who are saying they hated it I would suggest giving it another watch. There’s a lot to like here. I think David Blue Garcia did a fine job with the task of making a sequel to (in my opinion) the greatest horror movie ever made. Of course it’s not as good as Hooper’s but it’s a solid movie. Good story, acting, and directing. And it may be comparing apples to oranges but this new TCM is waaaaaay better than the Halloween Ends garbage.
