That Awkward Moment Reviews
3 sexy men. What else can I say?😏
I cannot stand this stupid movie. I turned it on out of boredom, and (did my best) to watch the whole thing. It’s overly cliched, unfunny, and relies too much on pop culture to relate to its audience instead of actually writing something meaningful. That’s something I’m so incredibly tired of and it’s especially prevalent in marvel movies. Please don’t watch this if you value your time. Watch something that has substance, something that will leave you with a sense of gratitude for watching it. 1/5 stars.
Underrated movie. Cheesy, corny but entertaining
This movie looks like it was made by committee. Casted by committee. Storyboard by committee. Script by committee. There is nothing worth revisiting here.
This film is perfect for a douchebag or you can get high asf or blackout drunk with your friends and put this on and you'll have a fun time, the cast is amazing and the movie is great at doing what it has to, being a comedy film.
Fun movie, great cast. A pleasant surprise.
It wasn't really funny and you're gonna get douche chills the entire time... but I guess it's kind of like a bro version of a chick flick and has some decent moments. Still, just so douchey
I don't care what anyone says this is one of my favorite "sappier" movies. All three main characters are great actors and today are doing some other great things when it comes to movies. I call this movie a "chick flick" for guys but it's great.
Romantic comedies geared towards male audiences are something we admittedly don't get often. I think as someone who's probably in the target demographic for "That Awkward Moment," I found some enjoyment in this movie. The movie explores genuine topics and is sometimes pretty funny too. I like the three actors in this movie and think they elevate an otherwise okay script. The topics that are explored are good ones, but they're only looked at from a high level and I felt like lacked depth. I still found myself enjoying the movie for what it is. There's a sweet nature mixed with raunchy humor that makes it an enjoyable little rom-com that while not a work of art, is fairly underrated if you ask me.
I thought this movie was good. It was funny too.
This movie was all about white privilege, even the black character was basically white. No acknowledgement of his own culture, he was a doctor and acted just as uptight as the other characters. They were all young newyorkers showing off their privilege, flaunting it in the face of all of the struggling minorities in America in their upscale apartments with their cool corporate jobs and carefree lifestyles. There was no LGBTQIZSGP+ representation and as a gay man quite frankly i found this to be offensive.
Horrendous movie. And I know this isn’t the popular thing to say but I cannot stand Michael B Jordan. I think he’s an awful actor. The majority of his roles I cannot believe his character at all. I think he is one of the most overrated actors on the planet.
It's one of those "bros before hoes but breaks it because of developing attachment to relationships which will be the cause of breakage in their friendship and all of them will later reconcile later" movies
I guess I'm an outlier here, but I really don't think this movie is that bad. There is actual, tangible chemistry with the cast here and I think that translates to moments that feel genuine and honest and not all that disconnected from reality. If I am being critical, I can see where the "rom" side of "rom com" doesn't work so well here. But honestly, the friendship dynamic works well enough that I can look past it and find something else to appreciate in this movie.
While it did have it's moments it was an annoying movie, overall.
Now maybe it's just because That Awkward Moment hits embarrassingly close to home, but "unfunny" is the last word I would use to describe it... Whether it's great casting or superb acting, Zac, Miles, and Michael interact with a genuineness that has me convinced these dudes are just the same off screen. And though the film develops six characters at the cost of really developing any, a few hysterically ironic moments make it a perfect pick for a casual watch with the friend group.
