The Adam Project Reviews

Apr 21, 2025

It's basically what you'd expect from a time travel movie. Really enjoy sci-fi stuff, and this was another solid addition. Nothing crazy, but nothing really against it. Thought it was a really good cast as well. Ryan Reynolds continues to shine in whatever role he is in. Had a good amount of laughs. Also thought it was visually well done. Overall, not bad!

This movie was wonderful! It had a compelling story, amazing visuals, and was heartwarming in all of the right places. I definitely recommend it!

(ENGLISH) The Adam Project is one of those films that doesn’t try to reinvent anything, but what it does, it does well. It carries the spirit of '80s adventure films, reminiscent of Spielberg — time travel, action, heartfelt family moments, and just enough humor to keep things light. It’s the kind of movie that could’ve been a video store classic if it had come out 30 years ago. Ryan Reynolds plays his usual self, as always, but it works here. And the surprise is Walker Scobell, who not only holds his own next to Reynolds but actually steals a few scenes. Their dynamic is the emotional core of the story. The cast also includes Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, and Zoe Saldaña, who all do a solid job, even if their characters don’t get much development. The plot isn’t particularly original: a pilot from the future comes back to the past to stop a catastrophe, and ends up reuniting with his younger self and his family. But it doesn’t need more than that. The pacing is tight, the action is well-balanced, and there are a few genuinely moving moments. The magic lies in how it blends all these elements to make you feel like a kid again, dreaming about saving the world. Are there flaws? Of course. It leans a bit too hard into sentimentality at times, the science doesn’t always hold up, and there are moments that feel more like a collection of clichés than a fresh story. But it’s also honest, endearing, and — above all — really entertaining. The kind of movie that leaves you smiling without even realizing it. Definitely a family-friendly film that, while not perfect, pulls off something much harder: making you forget the real world for a while.

Admittedly - I'm a sucker for time travel movies. This one hit all the right notes, and didn't fall into the familiar traps. The right amount of humor, action, touching moments, and love. A Great Film. Just watch it.

Maybe I'm old school but I absolutely loved this movie. The banter between the characters was incredibly funny and an intriguing plot without being soooooo over the top like most movies. Love loved loved!

I ENJOYED THE CHARMING ENERGY AND THE HAPPY AURA OF HOPE IN THIS BREZZY, SOMEWHAT INVENTIVE, AND UPBEAT FLICK

The Adam Project is a good movie with a good message that many people can relate to. The cursing in much of the movie is unnecessary but yet still a good movie.

Fun movie. Ryan Reynold and Zoe Saldana have no chemistry and the de-aging CGI sucked but I liked the movie

If you’re looking for a fun sci-fi flick… or two Ryan Reynolds talking to each other, then look no further than The Adam Project, a familiar film that hits you right in the feels.

Time travel is so overdone, so why not watch a movie about time travel and why it's so overdone? Ryan Reynolds and Walker Scobell star as the titular Adam, as one who is lost to time and one who is lost in his life. The duo play off each other extraordinarily well and with talent like Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Garner, and Mark Ruffalo, the acting and chemistry of the set is remarkable. The story could use some work and there's blatant problems with the logic of it all, but it was a fun ride through and through for everyone involved, with an ending that hits pretty hard.

A good sci fi teaching that we must always review our life and focus more on family

It's exactly what you think it's going to be and that's ok with me. Feel good movie. Little bit of action. Solid audio. Plus Deadpool, Hulk, Elektra and Gamora in a non marvel team up..let's go.

It has its merits but we left it at 2/3 of the running time. While it has a good and likable cast and quite decent cinematography, the problem is that this movie is a bit of a cheat: it wants to be seen as a science fiction / action movie but is in fact something else: one about family relations and emotions and going back in time and unmake the mistakes you did and give advice to your younger self and the like. That a movie about time travel has these topics is of course okay, but there’s just so much of this here that it crowds out the other (exciting) parts. So an awful huge share of this movie is actually melodrama, going in circles, always around the same topics, which gets tedious pretty quickly. For every small progress in the story the audience needs to ‘pay’ with enduring endless dialogues and tears and drama. One is hoping for something like Back to the Future and instead gets a soap opera that is only scarcely interrupted by anything actually happening. When we realized things don’t speed up at least in the final third, we shut it off.

I have watched this movie multiple times and it always makes me laugh! The time traveling plot has been worn down over time, but this movie doesn't feel like something it has been made. Correct me if I'm wrong. Ryan Reynolds always delivers his characters to perfection, and gives this comic look to them. Also there can be spotted som referances to Reynolds' previous movies. Sit back and let yourself be carried by the story. Enjoy.

Damn good movie with a great cast! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🩷

I would literally call this Ryan Reynold's version of "The Butterfly Effect" same plot man changing his future by changing his past with a great cast and possibly better soundtrack

“Past Meets Future.” Ok so I thought the film was great. I loved adult Adam and young Adam duo. Reynolds is amazing, as always. Walker Scobell is a gem and I can’t wait to see him in future films. Also a 13 Going on 30 reunion. 5/5 stars.
