The Broken Hearts Gallery Reviews
There are moments that invite a few laughs, but the cast of characters are too stereotypically millennial for their own good, which detracts from the film's central romance.
Where do I start. The main character is supposed to be quirky and funny, but is just plain annoying. The script and direction is equally as bad. I literally did not laugh once and turned it off after 30 minutes. She throws back like 10 tequilas and the director didn't even try to make sure she acted the least bit drunk? Definitely watch something else lol
I really didn’t think I would like this movie, but it’s a really great romcom. Usually modern rom coms don’t hold up to the golden age in the early 2000s, but this one was way better than I expected. Has great chemistry between the stars and imperfect but likable characters.
Was a great rom-com. I enjoyed it. My favorite part was when he surprised her with the new sign for hotel.
cute movie-it's nice to see movies that are fun to watch without PORN scenes
It's an amazing watch and I would definitely recommend it. It has a cute love story with amazing actors and it manages to be funny while also being heartwarming and a beautiful sadness. I cried many times on my first watch and It wasn't those feel bad cries, I felt happy for the characters I was watching but also a little sorry for their past problems. My only issue is the pacing, it's a bit fast at times, but it doesn't hold the movie back from telling a great story at all.
I don't like it but, I like it at the same time. Relatable, "heartbreak happens to us all." and its a beautiful feeling to get out of it when we eventually do.
I thoroughly enjoyed this film and the artistic flair throughout. The actors were great. This film made me feel a lot of things, and I even shed a tear. I really enjoyed the film… until the last 30 minutes and that's why I can't give it more than 3 stars. The ending was cheesy and predictable, and this ultimately undermined the first hour of the film. The main male protagonist claimed to hate cheesy, and I'm still unsure whether the ending was supposed to be commentary on this or just a lazy writing job. For a film that I was hoping would be a different take on a rom-com, it really let me down. Can't wait to see what the stars of the film do next - they were great to watch on screen.
It's quite good, but some unnecessary love drama imo
It's charming and funny as a romantic comedy has to be, you can often identify with the main character.
I was pleasantly surprised by this film. I found myself engaged and entertained. I recommend it.
I adored this one. Just a fun and fresh rom com made even more charming by Geraldine Viswanathan's performance.
The approach of this movie is one of a kind. Usually, movies about breakups are supposed to be sad. It's ironic that this one makes you laugh unconsciously. Although, the same idea of getting over your breakup is still there. But the inspirational and artistic way of getting over it is indeed something worth watching. Even the acting of Lucy gives you a good vibe that will cheer you up.
Love this movie, think the cast do such a amazing job and I love the kinda original concept in a romantic movie, I also think the comedy works -- sometimes, My only complaint is that it is a bit cliche in its ending but otherwise was a good watch.
Totally adorable and incredibly witty. Yeah, it's the usual rom-com, but so what? When we learn the real inspiration for her starting her Broken Hearts Gallery, I dare you not to cry. The final minutes were a bit much, but all flaws were overcome by the abundance of charm, from both the leads and supporting cast alike. Really sweet film.
I feel like this movie got good reviews on the sole fact that it included some sort of diversity, considering it's not just white on white leads. Which I'll admit is refreshing, but the film itself is just trying too hard to be this quick-wit comedy but is actually makes you cringe at how badly it falls flat. Trying too hard at cliches, predictable, and just not funny in the least bit...
A quirky, witty and delightful romcom! Thank you Natalie Krinsky for an altogether different yet heartwarming romantic comedy watch after a long time! The Broken Hearts Gallery starts off a bit rough with the lead character of Lucy (played by Indian-origin actress Geraldine Viswanathan), starting off as an unrelatable, pining, emotional mess who dreams to open her own art gallery someday. But the director weaves her magic with every progressive scene, adding layers and layers until you are completely sold on her motivations and her quest for romantic fulfilment. Dacre Montgomery is a delight as the male lead, Nick, an aspiring hotel owner and every scene between the lead couple is full of sparkling chemistry and genuine, quirky wit. Special mention must be made for the lead's BFFs, played by Molly Gordon and Philipa Soo, who steal every scene they are in. Spectacular writing, backed by affable performances and razor-sharp direction. Highly recommended. This might just be the romcom of the year #MovieReview #BrokenHeartsGallery #AmazonPrime #Hollywood
Great casting. Sweet story - a modern day rom-com.
