Best film ever , amazing performances and storyline

movie was "Absolute Cinema" but ending could have been much more good.

This is absolutely outrageous and insane that this is only 82%. I understand that that's a high rating but this is one of the greatest films ever made.

Splendido poliziesco che dà vita a quella che probabilmente è una delle trilogie più importanti del cinema koreano, e lo fa con una sceneggiatura semplicemente perfetta. Trama coinvolgente ed avvincente fin dalle prime battute, continuo innesto di personaggi nuovi e di cambiamenti repentini di ritmo e di oggetto; oltre ad una serie di dialoghi serrati e quasi mai banali, danno vita ad un film estremamente impattante che tiene incollati allo schermo. Pazzesca l'abilità del regista di mantenere sempre altissima l'attenzione, nonostante i numerosi cambi proposti, dapprima il dubbio sul killer, poi il dubbio sulla confessione ed infine la ricerca disperata della donna e poi della vendetta. Ogni elemento viene proposto con la stessa qualità, non mancano però nemmeno alcune sequenze in cui la tensione viene stemperata. Alcuni momenti sono molto crudi e reali; tengono incollati allo schermo in maniera assoluta. Probabilmente, la sequenza di lotta finale, è proprio la parte leggermente meno interessante ed originale.

This Korean motion series I, The Chaser, 2008 is thought provoking...

Exceptional with a fantastic pace. Brutal, not for the squeamish, but very well made. If you like Se7en you may be inclined to also like The Chaser.

It was a great watch, but I had some issues with this movie, although it still left me with some great impressions. There were so many scenes that were exaggerated a bit though i would say some of them were funny, and some plot holes like for example why would you go to different places looking for his house when he and the girl he was with stopped at the exact location the detective was at!! It makes more sense that the search would have been where the girl's car was found, another stupid plot was when the girl escaped why would she run into the convenience store not calling out for neighbors to help her or people walking in the streets and even when she had the opportunity to call someone she chose to call her pimp and not the police!!! Lol i understand it makes for great tense and drama but come on so many movies did that and it still pisses me off. I do like the twist at the end though, and i would recommend watching it, if someone never watched any Korean movies I'm sure he will probably enjoy it more than I did. 7/10

This movie was like most of Korean films very suspenseful. I often found myself yelling at the 온라인카지노추천 for the police to do something different. Very good movie I didn't like the ending but I still think this is a must watch.

Excellent crime drama with some real edge of your seat suspense and action. I'd give it a full five stars if it weren't for two things: one character is badly injured without any explanation and while I admit I don't know anything about Korean criminal procedure, something happens here that I don't think would happen even in the due process obsessed United States. Don't let that deter you, check this one out.

Your "classic" korean crime thriller that barely does a thing wrong. I really liked everything about this film. My only complaint would be that there were maybe two competing plots each interesting, but instead of coming to a climax at the same time one ending early. It left the last 15 minutes a bit flat as the first of the two was more engaging. Highly recommend for any fans of crime/thrillers, and especially those that are willing to watch or have a liking of foreign films.

One of the better horror/thrillers this century. Great sequences that keep you guessing. Very unsettling, but satisfying pacing and character building. Takes a spot amongst the top Korean films, which is quite an accomplishment considering how many there are, especially in this genre.

This movie might be the only one I've ever seen that has hurt feelings on a deeply personal level. I honestly rooted for the protagonist and hoped he would prevail. This is a great movie, loosely based on a real serial killer. To those who say it's idiotic because cops or people can't be that dumb or inept look up the Raincoat Killer or watch the Netflix Doc.

It becomes more difficult to sit through as the movie progresses. The critical information is right there in front of the characters' faces, but no one sees anything. Bumbling idiots is an understatement and really ruins what would otherwise be a great movie.

It's a good sign that when a movie can get to so invest in the characters, it physically pains you to watch them get hurt. The movie is shot to give you a really gritty feeling. These dirty back alleys of Korean society the people struggling to pay the bills and a monster at large. Sad and Depressing and Anger inducing, yet I can't look away.

Good looking movie about an ex-detective pimp trying to catch someone who may have killed some of his girls. Lots of little twists, plenty of gore, some likable characters but a bit depressing.

A good Korean thriller! It's a thriller film, and not a horror film, but it is a little bit disturbing. It's dark, gritty and gruesomely bloody. The main theme in this movie which I could really feel was the theme of the incompetence of the police force to solve horrendous crimes. It's a little grounded in existentialism I'd say. It also features a good lead performance by Kim Yoon-Seok. The only problem that I had with this movie is that the subtitles go a little too fast. So sometimes it's hard to follow the details of this movie, which can create a few plot holes. But otherwise, The Chaser is a grim serial killer, thriller pic. I overall enjoyed this movie! Recommended !!

Watta mess !! The writers turned out to be more sadistic than the movie's Antagonist. The writing is soo bad; it's just unbelievably frustrating. The writers managed to get that psycho testify his own crimes and then got him out in style. They managed to take a half dead woman out of her misery only to get her killed latter; reason CIGARETTE !! Also can you please kill that dog for dramatic effect ? Psycho - Ohh yeah !! It is understood that it's not absolutely essential for a movie to attain a closure or to end on a positive note. But when you take that path atleast make the inbetween story development absorbing. Sadly here, for a good 2hr movie, 1.45 hrs is just one way traffic. The Protagonist wandering in his car aimlessly, Psycho chilling in the police station, Police monkeying around when there's literally a house full of dead bodies, and a guy with previous crime records admitting to 12 murders. There is absolutely no character development in this film; for god sake they had a cop turned pimp worrying about his business well into the second half of the movie !! How can a movie be so dreadful inspite of being technically sound ? Answer : Horrible writing !! Epic crap. Total bullshit. And what the heck is wrong with these reviewers !! I thought it was a half decent movie given that it's technically good; but the story sucks big time, highly pretentious.
