The Crow Reviews
It is all just rather underwhelming and unnecessary.

Sanders and screenwriters Zach Baylin and William Schneider play fast and loose with the internal “rules” of Crow-dom – Eric’s ability to shrug off otherwise fatal injury comes and goes at plot’s whim.

... nothing that’s going to have audiences passing the discs around when their parents go to sleep, fraught with lore and forbidden longing. If it can’t rain all the time, this film proves that sometimes a drought during a tsunami is worse.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Nov 26, 2024
A few genuinely fun action pieces drowned out by terrible chemistry and the grodiest couple you could imagine trying to convince us they're true love.

Perfectly awful.

Skarsgård shines, but weaker cast and a flimsy plot make this version of The Crow fall short.
| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Nov 11, 2024
Despite the odd violent flourish, this film is not artistically satisfying nor as emotionally impactful as it should be... Dead on arrival sadly.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Oct 16, 2024
While visually appealing and groovy sounding, the cringe-worthy and flat dialogues, not to mention the needless gore, consign this reboot to the eminently forgettable pile

“The Crow” flies unsteadily, and with a dismaying lack of speed, toward a destination that’s all too familiar.
| Original Score: 2.5/4 | Sep 30, 2024
This does not really justify itself beyond being full of new actors.

Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs sizzle, and the the soundtrack smoulders, creating a haunting tale of tragedy ready to bewitch all that enter into The Crow with an open mind and heart.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Sep 14, 2024
It feels as if the cast is sleepwalking through this dull first act, and the film never manages to find its rhythm. Most importantly, it never hits the emotional notes that this story requires you to feel.
| Original Score: 3/10 | Sep 13, 2024
As far as reboots go, The Crow sticks the landing in terms of an ensemble cast and an atmosphere that bridges the gaps in the editing and the story, which renders the film too impressionistic to feel whole.
| Original Score: 6/10 | Sep 12, 2024
A dark reboot or re-imagining of the 1994 original cult classic.

It is stylistically interesting but I think it wildly misses the mark and doesn't have much to say.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Sep 6, 2024
The action didn't really move me...
| Original Score: 2/5 | Sep 6, 2024
While falling short of the cult classic original in several ways, this latest take on the graphic novel still boasts plenty merit of its own.

Lots of movies are “bad” but still interesting but earnest-to-a-fault The Crow is not that.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Sep 6, 2024
The Crow is an astonishing movie about an unloved young man learning just how deep a capacity for love he actually has, based around a disturbingly good central performance from Bill Skarsgård. It is also so violent it is very nearly unwatchable.

The Crow was best left undisturbed.
