Brilliant cast with a brilliant script and a brilliant director. Just need to look at these things and if you have liked previous works you will love this.

Brilliant film, absolutely hilarious!

First of all, I want to praise this film—it's an excellent and brilliant comedy about the Soviet Union era. It’s absolutely insane in terms of how much it made me laugh. And now the question probably arises: "Why is he praising this movie so much?" Here's my answer: My name is Amir, and I’m the son of parents and a family who immigrated from there—from the Soviet Union. In 2018, I came across the trailer for this movie for the first time, and I laughed so hard at the humor it portrayed back then. After watching the trailer, I felt a strong desire to see the film, especially as someone whose family, as I mentioned earlier, came from that place. Unfortunately, in 2018 I was in the middle of my studies and exam period, which didn’t allow me the opportunity to watch it. Some time passed, and during my military service, I came across the trailer again. But this time, I watched the movie online—and I can say one thing: it gave me a seriously hilarious experience that day. Yes, it's a film that slightly mocks the history of what happened in the Soviet regime after Stalin, but that doesn’t mean the film is bad or anything like that. It's a masterpiece of humor that mocks that period. The most memorable scene for me was the evacuation of the house, which was done with music in such a funny and well-executed way—or the scene with the two guards watching Stalin's room. This film is full of dark humor about that era, and it uses it in the best way possible. I must confess—I’ve seen this movie more than once, and even more than twice. To sum it up, this is a genius film in every aspect, insanely wild, with a light and hilarious storyline at the highest level. Thank you, movie, for the unforgettable experience. I’m giving you 5 out of 5 stars, which is the highest rating this site allows me to give. If I could, I’d give you 10 out of 5 stars. And to anyone who’s considering watching it—I strongly recommend watching this masterpiece and work of art.

Not a successful movie of any genre on any level. It seemed to be going for farce. Honestly, eighth graders could have made a better film. Very badly cast with unknown actors and a terrible script. Don't waste your time on this.

FIELD MARSHAL ZHUKOV

The Death Of Stalin is a brilliant and witty film which covers the events following the death of Joseph Stalin in 1953 and the rise of Nikita Khrushchev as the leader of the Soviet Union. This film is one to watch with a star studded cast that explores one of history's most pivotal moments regarding the USSR. The injection of comedy into this mix was very much apricated and although you won't be crying with laughter you definitely will have a good laugh.

Absolute garbage no idea why anyone would rate this higher than 1/5.

The movie is an absolute masterpiece of writing and acting if you are from Eastern Europe, an excellent movie if you are familiar with the subject matter, and a pretty damned good comedy if you are not. For better effect if you are from the latter two categories, I suggest finding an Eastern European friend (that don't still remain full blown red, though those aren't too likely to be found, thankfully) and watch it with them. For maximal enjoyment, find someone, or someone's s parents who actually went through the Communist regime, and haven't yet seen the movie.

I enjoyed the movie, but it felt like there wasn’t a real quest or strong conflict driving the story. It kind of just moved along and then the problem was solved without much tension. There were a few funny moments, but I think it could’ve been more. Also, some of the characters could’ve had better development. In conclusion, it was entertaining, but it felt like something was missing for me.

Fantastic movie, wish I had watched it earlier. What a great way to tackle an awful period of time. A must watch.

Evil, thought provoking and how I could imagine it actually was.

This movie is so funny and so smart it restores my faith in what humanity is capable of. Forget going to the moon, this comedy may be the height of human accomplishment. Every time I see it it gets better and better. The decision to have every actor use their actual accent is riotous.

Terrific dark comedy that expertly blends sharp satire with tense political thrills. The cast is excellent, with standout performances from Steve Buscemi, Michael Palin, Simon Russel Beale, Jeffrey Tambor, and Jason Isaacs. The cinematography was engaging the fast-paced editing gave the movie a streamlined flow. The lack of Russian accents is odd, but intentionally amusing. The frequent fast-paced background jokes involving all the corrupt executions was icing on the cake. The script is very clever and tight, building up to a momentous struggle for power between all the figureheads. This political farce felt like it came right out of Monty Python or The Three Stooges.

Absolutely one of the top 10 comedies of ALL TIME! Every time you watch it, it gets better—just brilliant.

Probably one of my favourite movies of all time, seen it more times than I can even count. Tells the story of the power struggle after Josef Stalin's death in an amazingly funny way. Completely stacked cast of comedians, amazingly well written, just a hilarious and perfect movie. My favourite ending ever, up there with Gangs of New York and Fight Club.

Went in knowing and expecting nothing and got rewarded with a absolute gem. Great acting, script and storyline, equally witty and dark. Well worth watching.

Perfect blend of comedy and historical accuracy.

This movie is great, it's incredibly funny and just a joy to watch, I would say everyone is cast well, although some of the casting choice don't exactly look like there historical counterparts but that can be looked passed without problem ,overall a fantastic film.

Superbly witty, incredibly funny, but more importantly very accurate of the fear of Russians at the time. A brilliant watch and a very good cast. Armando Iannucci is a genius when it comes to satire and political drama.

Catches the motives and the paranoia that surrounded the leadership at the time of the death of Stalin. Dark comedy that demonstrates truths of those in power in the USSR.
