The Descent: Part 2 Reviews
Vale apena assistir? Sim para quem assistiu o 1º. Nota: 7
The descent has very high I reviews which it deserves. The descent 2 has a very poor review. Both movies are good but I think The descent 2 was better movie
If you watched the first film you will want to see number 2. It is particularly gruesome and gory. Some of the acting is not up to par particularly the sharif and some of his cronies. I also didn’t care for the ending, that is all I will say on that so I don’t spoil the ending for you. Saying that I will recommend watching it. You can decide if you like it.
Not up to the standard of the first film, but still has some very unnerving moments. If you've seen the first film, it's still worth watching this sequel.
Against my better judgement I bought this movie after becoming so invested in the original story. Too much needless violence and gore, the plaster rocks look fake asf. The caverns are obviously film sets. Also, I did not buy this just to see everyone die in the end including my favourite character. There's other nonsense too like after killing like a million of the orcs between the two movies how are there still so many? It is not possible for these totally blind creatures to take down a moose with their hands and take it home with them. So stupid. And lastly the idea that they are being fed by people is so far fetched and offensive to the viewer.
Four years after 'The Descent' came the anticlimactic sequel of 'The Descent: Part 2'. SYNOPSIS: 'Refusing to believe her story about cave-dwelling monsters, the sole survivor of a spelunking exploration gone horribly wrong is forced to follow the authorities back into the caves where something awaits.' This is such an infuriating film and it's up there with one of the worst films I've ever seen. Within one minute of the film commencing it completely ignores one of the major plot points of 'The Descent'. Why? If it's a deliberate decision it's ridiculous and the director is hoping the viewer won't remember this plot point from the first film. If it's a genuine mistake then it's a stupidly lazy film making and an insult to Neil Marshall who directed the original film. Otherwise this is just a copy and paste of it's predecessor but it's not a patch on it. This film clearly suffers from a lack of financial backing and guidance from it's Production Team. And after you've sat through this absolute car crash of a film you're met with a conclusion which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. There's just my rhyme or reason for it. This film is an uninspired insult to filmmaking. Terrible. 1/10
SPOILERS Wasn't attached to new characters. Old characters were okay. Everybody died. Who even was that old man? Ending sucked.
It would do better as a stand alone movie. The first one was definitely a tough act to follow. I'm guessing they did a director change because they wanted the sequel to feel different. It did feel different, obviously, because of the not an all-female cast like the first one as we are introduced to a very male country sheriff and hunky search and rescue guys. There are some plot inconsistencies but also some of the set still left intact from the first, for example, we see Sam still hanging lifeless as we left her. The ending was setting up a 3-quel that was never made. 😔
More visually bland than the predecessor which I felt was a visual bore.
Not as good as the first one because the mystery isnt there anymore but its cool to see them walking the same path as the others and encountering known faces
A sequel that disappoints by copying the great original. And boy oh boy I was extremely pissed off from the ending.
The Descent is a very highly regarded horror movie that I wasn't really a big fan of. I saw it had a sequel, so I said, why not watch it? That was a big mistake on my part. This movie stinks. It takes place immediately after the first film's events, and the plot continues to fall apart after the first 15 minutes of the movie. It makes no sense whatsoever and takes you out of the overall experience. The characters gel together and feel so lifeless that I could not care if they died. The pacing is so slow, and it got incredibly dull really fast. I would say the only good thing about this movie is that the dialogue is surprisingly good.
Maybe the steepest descent in quality between and original and it's sequel of all time.
It's a good idea and well executed. However, it completely negates the original. So, it sucks. A lot of the movie works, but major choices the filmmakers made were terrible. Too bad. So close to being a good sequel.
Unnecessary, nonsensical and not scary. Not one part of this movie made any sense.
Not as good ad tjr first. But it's a satisfying end to the juno and Sarah arc.
Horrible, I was rooting for the monsters the whole time, until I couldn't take it anymore, and turned it off.
They destroyed everything they did in the first one with this sequel...
