The Divergent Series: Allegiant Reviews

Apr 10, 2025

Allegiant makes some strides, but it still struggles to overcome the tiredness that comes with being a well-known brand.

Apr 8, 2025

Due to how they ended Insurgent in the end credit scene, Allegiant had barely any if at all no correlation with its book counterpart. If you have read the book series, then I would highly recommend staying away from this. If you haven't read the book series at all and are just looking for something to watch I would only give this a 2 star review since it still feels like it barely connects to its 2 previous movies.

Thematically heavy-handed and suffering from the same relentless feeling of lethargy that crippled its forebears, The Divergent Series: Allegiant fails to continue the franchise in a satisfactory--or even narratively coherent--fashion, instead settling for nonsensical scenes of steamy romance and incessantly moving camerawork.

Allegiant takes the Divergent series in a direction that just doesn't work, despite having the same strong visuals and solid score as the previous films. The plot feels stretched thin, trying too hard to expand the world while failing to give any real weight to the story. There's an attempt to build tension and introduce new conflicts, but the character depth just isn't there. Tris, who started as a strong lead, feels sidelined by a weak script, and halfway through, I found myself disconnected from her journey. The pacing is all over the place, with rushed moments that should have been developed and long stretches that drag without real purpose. The directing tries to hold things together, but it feels like the movie is constantly fighting against itself. Key decisions, especially involving Miles Teller's character, make no sense at all. Shailene Woodley does her best with what she's given, but the material doesn't support her performance. The rest of the cast ranges from passable to forgettable, with little to no meaningful character growth. Even the chemistry between characters, which was at least somewhat engaging in the previous films, feels forced and lifeless here. Visually, the cinematography and effects are decent, but they can't save the film from its weak storytelling. The score is one of the few redeeming factors, adding some much-needed emotion and tension, but it isn't enough to carry the film. The biggest issue is the lack of a satisfying climax or resolution. The movie builds toward something, only to fizzle out completely, leaving an empty, frustrating ending. It's no surprise this installment flopped, considering how little effort seemed to go into improving the story. Instead of elevating the franchise, Allegiant feels like a step backward, making it clear why the final chapter was scrapped.

Not a single one of the story lines in the Allegiant book was portrayed in the movie. So disappointed

I didn’t think it could be that worse. Thankfully the 4th episode was cancelled 🙄

Why did I ever watch this one? Oh right, I bought the Blu Ray together with the second movie...

I think the movie was still relevant and the series should at least go until it reaches the end. I hate series like this that don’t finish the story.

I have now seen all of the films in this trilogy and they are just fine. There is nothing excellent or compelling about them, but they are watchable.

Love the Divergent Series! Great sci-fi movie series!

🍀 0.6/10 Erm I’m here for Bill Skarsgård I don’t think you guys know how to utilize this beautiful star like he’s the only reason I’m not giving this movie a 0%, well OK the constantly best thing in this trilogy has got to be Miles teller like I love his assholeness so consider that two reasons. With all that said, this is definitely still a certified stinker like by this point, I don’t think you can expect any of these movies to have even an inch of quality it’s more of a Adam of quality that’s how Id put it. Like OK some of the pieces are all right but it doesn’t have the characters or story to pull it all together like wasn’t Zoe Kravitz pissed off in the last film, We never explored any development. it don’t make no sense. Grade F

No. Just no. Don't even bother. It really is not like the book, which is better (the book is always better).

Forgot that they didn't really finish the series back then. The ending leaves off on a slight cliff hanger but it was a decent movie overall. Originally there was going to be a part 2 to this movie and I really wish they had made it despite the lack of success of this one. I am still definitely a fan of this series watching it again all these years later.

I think it's disappointing that they couldn't make a second part when this movie is better than most current movies . I hope that can make an Allegiant part 2 again.

Nothing like the book, they removed a character and a lot of scenes from the book. The book ending made me cry, but the movie made me want to DIE. No emotion, only the power of friendship BS. Where is Peter's want to be a better person? Where is Four's BETRAYAL? Where is URIAH?! Where's Nina's plot? Where is the David/Natalie DRAMA. WHERE ARE THEY? I am appalled, I know this movie came out forever ago, but I don't care. Give me justice

Absolutely love all of these, they need to make number 4 it’s an incredible series

The movie to 온라인카지노추천 spin off series might be better.

this is even worse than the second one ... my god. how did they mess up SUCH a franchise? no wonder there's no actual last movie.

The movie itself and the actors were fine and the movie made sense to someone watching with me who had not read the books yet. My issue was that this movie was not loyal to the book AT ALL. There were many differences with small details, as to be expected, however, there were also some very large differences in the plot, the most noticeable one being that (SPOILER ALERT) Tris, the main character, dies at the end of the book and DOES NOT die in the movie. This made me very angry😡. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. 👏😊

Anticlimactic, pointless, when I was writing this review I was going to give it 2 stars but I decided it didn't deserve 2.Bad CGI, you can tell they ran out of money
