The Father Reviews
This is one of those movies that just hits you at the right moment of your life. It is the Inside Out of the opposite generation, where are you suddenly gain insight into a completely different perspective than anything youve ever imagined.
Very good movie. Very realistic. Helluva performance by Anthony Hopkins!
It was a "different" movie, something that if you just allow it to unfold you will understand it as it comes to a close. It was very real life, as to how a family and caregiver try to give the best care as they can, yet, the patient doesn't really understand the why or how of it all.
This movie was not interesting nor could we follow the plot.It was slow and boring. I hate to give a poor rating to any movie, but we did not care for it at all. We left after about 40 minutes - we were falling asleep:( And, my husband and I were the only two in the theater.
it was very touching and thoughtful, plus caring, it's hell to get old and feeling so helpless.
I see why Anthony won the Oscar.
Anthony Hopkins was superb. Brilliantly done!
Pure genius filmmaking and acting.
Anthony Hopkins deserved the academy award as he was excellent! But the movie was very heavy and depressing which had to be with this topic.
A bit depressing. But well done.
A very good movie. Anthony Hopkins is excellent as is the rest of the cast. A sad movie, however, because the subject is sad.
Masterpiece performance by A.Hopkins and O.Colman. Love, smile more, cry less when you still can as your (our) lives constantly evolves. Great movie for all ages.
Anthony Hopkins deserved the Oscar for his performance. It is confusing until you realize you are seeing the movie through the lenses of a person that has lost his memory.
Boring. Mind bending. Heart breaking. Confusing.
Anthony Hopkins played the role of a man with Alzheimers exactly what I envisioned. Excellent movie.
very powerful and moving. this is a must see if you know anyone with dementia or alzheimers.
incredible. I'm speechless. It would be a dishonor to relate this movie. It is an experience to be had.
i found the movie to be very confusing
Riveting portrayal of dementia victim and the impact it has on his family.
The best depiction of late stage life kind, tender, and terrifyingly real. This era's On Golden Pond.
