The Action was Awesome but the story and the dialogues were really Corny. Watched it yesterday with my wife we enjoyed the action.

This is a movie I could sit nd watch with my parents, in-laws, children, co-workers, and neighbors. The great Wall takes me back to a time before the viewing public became jaded by personal idiosyncrasy and quibble. A time when a story could be presented for the purpose of telling an entertaining story. Its story is one of the struggle to balance good from bad, right from wrong, good vanquishing bad. The only thing The Great Wall is missing is maybe another 30 minutes in runtime. Certain sections could have taken a little longer to unfold. Will keep a look out for a directors cut version. There is nothing wrong with this movie. The visual imagery presented was outstanding.

No idea why these types of movies get such bad reviews. I thought this was brilliant. Somthing completely different to what we're used to. A nice mix of action and dramas with good casting and writing with a fantasy feel. This was great fun.

Whoever hates this movie I hate you; it was a masterpiece of a film one of the best movies of the year should have won that award but nah of course people had to hate it. You all have no taste in movies or seeing the masterpiece it truly is. Go fuck yourselves.

I honestly couldn’t get through the first 25 minutes of it because of how band and outright confusing the movie was.

The not so Great Wall, more like. This movie has the likes of Jing Tian, Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal and William DaFoe and still managed to be bad. It was action filled, sure. But way too fast-paced and even though this movie was obviously fictional it was still so, so terribly unrealistic. I was so excited getting into it, but my excitement immediately disintegrated.

Not one of the best work fm Zhang Yimou . I think the movie had over emphasized the 2 foreigner characters instead of focusing on the other warriors. Apart fm Willem Dafoe，this was not one of best Matt's performance. Is a pity because there were lots of other good actors but they were all playing minor roles w just a few words here and there. The one thing worth mentioning were the special effects. There were some amazing visuals and lots of great acrion scenes. 👍

A fun monster romp with lots of action and explosions. What's not to like about that?

Yikes. The worst Matt Damon film by far. It seems they spent all their budget on special effects rather than script writing.

When I first saw the trailer for this movie I gave it a miss. It seemed silly. After watching a couple of decent monster movies though I circled back around and decided to watch it. Plus I'm a big Dafoe fan. I wish I hadn't though. First the CGI monsters look awful. Not realistic in the slightly. The plot is surprisingly boring and the acting wasn't great. It relies too much on the explosions and slow-mo stunts to try and give it some wow factor. 2 hours too long in my opinion.

Enough action and monsters to keep me entertained for a short time.

This was enjoyable somehow but there was absolutely no story to it and it wasnt that great designed , the cgi was pretty mad and even tho there were some great actors in the movie , the acting was not good at all, the whole plot twist werent that great and overall it just wasnt a good movie , only reason I gave it two star is cause , you can watch it it is enjoyable but nothing great

It does have some beautiful shots. For example, at around 47 minutes, the wall and surrounding countryside shrouded in mist. You do get a sense though that Matt Damon and Pedro Pascal don't want to be there, in the movie I mean. It looks wonderful, and maybe that's it's problem. The CGI is the star.

60 years they prepared for this confrontation. What a wonderful coincidence that Matt Damon arrived one hour earlier to help them out. Thank God (the real one)! Lol.

I enjoyed, forgettable but pretty entertaining

Really love this music from the actions to the music. They dont make movies like this anymore which is sooo sad. The Actress was hot as hell too so cant go wrong there.

A big predictable cgi cartoonish fantasy war film that is made for people who want to waste their time and money.

I went in with modest expectations and got a decently engaging 2 hours. When it ended, my first thought was, "despite having many solid pieces, that movie was somehow less than the sum of its parts." The overall plot was good enough, but at several key junctions they just didn't go far enough to get the audience to buy in. I agree the CGI and the visuals in general, could be an overworked distraction, (if you let it.) On the other hand, you can just take them at face value and they will be amply gorgeous. Give it a go, why not?

This movie wasn't very good, if anything the title of the movie doesn't match with the story? There were some good tactics but several points were very questionable at most
