The Haunting of Sharon Tate Reviews
Ultimately doesn't work as either as a home invasion movie, or as a documentary. What it really feels like is true-crime fanfiction with a lofty but misguided concept.

It's a shame spiral all the way to the bottom of the barrel. You can make your own helter skelter jokes.

An execution of poor resources with poor performances. [Full review in Spanish]

[Daniel] Farrands has created a small miracle in the true crime genre, a horror tale that is eminently more moving than terrifying.

Really, the last thing I expected when I started watching this movie was a metaphysical exploration of the idea of parallel realities by way of a low-budget exploitation film, but that's what I got, and I very much enjoyed the experience.

There are times when one must question whether a film goes too far, even in a genre noted for pushing the boundaries.

Eventually you become numb to the violence being inflicted, taking away from the horror of the situation.

Exploitative, cheap, and genuinely insulting...

Don't just look at real-life tragedies and try to exploit them...the ending is just so atrocious.

Destined to become a VOD-dare for the kind of movie-watcher who likes to smell a carton of spoiled milk out of curiosity.

If you can ignore that bad taste it leaves in your mouth, it might at least qualify as an almost admirable disaster - a big swing that definitely didn't need to be swung, but gosh darn it, a swing nonetheless. I

This wooden acting, and the relationships that come off as fake and far-fetched as the plot they're cycling through, are all consequences of a film that prioritizes cheap scares over convincing characters.

When a movie does as many things wrong as this one does, you wonder how it got made in the first place? Tasteless in concept, misguided in execution, and a bore to boot.

[A] run-of-the-mill home invasion thriller, and while Farrands is a solid genre craftsman - as evidenced by his similarly creepy true-crime film from earlier this year, "The Amityville Murders" - his taste remains suspect.

Sharon Tate is a terribly foolish movie featuring wooden acting, a disgusting premise, and none of the redeeming qualities that even the most repellant exploitation schlock film might offer.
| Original Score: F | Apr 5, 2019
Cheap exploitation has rarely felt as brazen and transparent as in this lurid thriller, which reappropriates a scandalous true-life tragedy as a threadbare collection of slasher and home-invasion clichés.
| Apr 5, 2019
A spectacularly tasteless and dramatically inept take on the tragedy that tries to add an element of the paranormal to the proceedings in order to goose things up for reasons that elude me.

The film is appalling from start to finish.

A heap of exploitative garbage, The Haunting of Sharon Tate sees the vicious, gruesome, and real-life murders of five people as fodder for a by-the-numbers horror movie.
