The Ice Road Reviews
THE ICE ROAD is a serviceable weekday action-thriller, with a decent premise and enough requisite twists to keep the stakes high. In execution and pacing, however, the movie lacks a certain commitment and momentum, and thus feels at times like everyone is just going through the motions. It's not quite the action film that ice road truckers deserve, but it is an acceptable popcorn flick, and apparently a sequel is in the works.
Great cast. They just lost me too many times. Almost as if the writer told me the rules and how to solve problems and then broke them later in the movie to keep the antagonist in the fight. We are in a hurry, then take a break and have coffee/tea. Just awful writing.
Movie so bad I even created a Rotten Tomatoes account to leave a revoew, people just die randomly and the CGI effects were so bad I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. Also a weak ass story line, all in all, MEH
Total Dross. Everyone deserves to do something else with their life in the time it takes to endure. The best 45 minutes I was napping.
This was as exciting as watching ice melt
Mirrors the other review really. Storyline was rubbish and the cut and paste action was boring
One ridiculous impossible scene after another as these amateurs try to make a dramatic film. The really baffeling thing is why would an actor the status of Liam Neeson lend his name and reputation to such horrid dreck?
Why the bad reviews? I am tired of car chases in big cities. this is no more unbelievable and the setting is much more interesting.
I created an account on here just to say this is probably the worst film I have ever seen. It made me laugh but in all the wrong ways.
15 minutes in they start talking about protesting and social justice. Not surprised, movie was made in 2021. Aside from that, the acting is pretty bad, and overall, it's boring. Turned off after about 25 minutes.
If you like movies that don’t include characters talking excessively about their feelings, but instead have solid suspense and tension then you’ll probably enjoy this enough.
Unfortunately typical of 90% of films these days where Netflix/Amazon etc are more interested in quantity not quality and budgets and scripts reflect this. The stars must hate that most scripts on offer these days make them sell out How do we get back to the cinema days? Stop paying subscriptions....but I am still sucked in by their clever "addiction series" like Stranger Things....Damn it!
I’m from the UK but have lived in Canada for over 20 years,so I know the weather and the cold. I felt the cast and crew did a pretty good job getting that across. The ice roads are vital but scary as hell and anyone who works on them has my respect,so many people rely on them for a lot. The film was gritty in places, I loved the bond between the brothers, shame one of them had to die. But it was well worth a watch and I’d like to watch it again, which says a lot from me.a film has to be pretty good for me to say that. My advice is read up a bit about ice truckers, grab a blankie and some snacks and just sit back and be entertained. Liam Neeson although older now still has my respect. He pulled it off, it was really worth watching!.
This film is action paked with quite a lot of sadness please ignore all the other reviews that say 1 star because that is simply not true i think they are just hatters.
I wish I could say something positive about this film, but it’s quite possibly one of THE worst films I’ve ever watched. My advice is to just not bother. I’m saving you almost 2 hours of your life.
A ‘so bad it’s good’ disaster movie, but only just. Whilst the concept of having a rag-tag crew of big rig drivers embark on a noble mission against time and the extremes of nature to save those in peril holds some merit, the actual plot comes across as silly and very unrealistic. Combine this with the incredulous action scenes, cheap CGI, dodgy editing, weak dialogue, wooden acting and some incredibly daft death scenes, and you have an entertaining but bad film. Had it been more cheesy and ridiculous or more serious and gritty it could have been great; as it is, it’s just another B-movie.
If they had actually watched a few episodes of ice road truckers it could have been better without the stereotyped villains. Effects, what little they used were a bit straight to video quality. Never going to be an intellectual script given the storyline, it is what it is.
Liam is always worth a watch, but unfortunately the plot has many holes and implausible actions leading to a bit of a disappointing viewing. On a cold, rainy day it's worth a watch, but it's not popcorn worthy.
Watching for Liam....but... Trucknado
