The Jungle Book Reviews
The butchering of Bear Necessitates alone is enough for 1/2 Star, but the rest of the movie is awful as well.
This live action isn't my favorite, but it's enjoyable enough.
One of my favorites come to life amazing scenery!
Terrible. Please do not watch this.
This is not a good film. Honestly, The original Jungle Book and kinda the sequel are better.
Personally, I think it's even better than the original. Loved it. The suspense in some scenes too. The CGI has to be some of the best I've ever seen. it's incredible.
Very good. A must see.
A boy raised by wolves takes a walk through the jungle and happens upon animals with differing opinions on his well being. To the film's credit, it is wonderful to look at. Knowing that the only real thing we are looking at is Neel Sethi, who plays Mowgli, is truly a wonder for the time. All the animal characters look photo realistic. Casting Bill Murray as Baloo was a terrific idea. Ben Kingsley is great as Bagheera, Idris Elba plays a menacing Shere Khan and I love Scarlett Johansson’s take on Kaa. Now here is the problem: they tried to keep the musical aspect of the original animated feature. I love the music from the original, I believe the music made that movie great. But here it is gutted from its intended purpose and is only included for nostalgic reasons. Scarlett Johansson’s version of “Trust In Me” is great, but they only used it during the end credits because they needed her character to be an exposition dump. That is a terrible use of Johansson’s talent and the money they spent for her studio time to voice Kaa. I could rant about this film for quite awhile, but to sum up I think this film is only worth a watch if you’re interested in the technical animation achievement that it represents.
An absolute must see!, the movie is great and it's enjoyable for me. One of live action movie that better than the original, the plot is clean. And also great casting.
Probably one of the best coming-of-age movies I've ever seen. I regard myself as a tough man and Y cryed like a baby in the third act. The CGI is spotless.
i love how shere khan is much, much more of a menace in this version. the cgi is nicely done, i could watch this a thousand times and still be amazed.
The only good live action remake of a classic
A classic turned into live action is either a big miss or hit.
As the live action remakes typically go, this one is surprisingly just kind of ok
A remake is rarely better than the original, the "almost" part is because of this movie. The actors are very good, and the CGI is better. The only half-scary scene is when (spoiler) Sher Kahn kills Akela, but even that isn't scary. It is a must-see for Disney lovers.
Ok this is my 2nd time watching this and idk...maybe it's just me but I LOVE this movie! It's very entertaining, has a great story, and is just fun to watch!
It's definitely an improvement over the original in terms of story, choosing to adapt the Rudyard Kipling original more (just a bit) faithfully. The direction is competent but ultimately doesn't work for me due to its conflicted tones and bizarre character moments. What I feel this film lacks is a sense of confidence in what it wants to be.
This version of The Jungle Book lands on its feet with a solid story and seamless visuals. The voice cast and shining young Sethi breath magic into the familiar story. The directing of this movie is stellar. Shere Khan's portrayal was impressively chilling and added a powerful (but controlled) dark element to the film. Overall, this film was very enjoyable and, most importantly, kept its imaginative heart.
This movie is absolutely amazing. The cast is great, the visuals were great, and the story follows the book more closely, which I love. Hands down the best live action adaptation of them all. 🙌
