The Last Witch Hunter Reviews
The people who rated this five stars and complain about the critics and their supposed aGeNdAs absolutely can't understand why food critics don't give Michelin stars to Chili's and TGIF. That's about the best analogy I can come up with. This is movie is a war crime. Against me, personally, because I had to watch it. Maybe I just war crime'd myself? Should I petition The Hague for my own arrest? If they'll put me out of my misery, I just might.
Critics are just people. Sadly, many with agendas. Been watching movies for 60+ years and happy I’ve seen this. Great story and characterization. Great to escape once in a while.
As usual, pay no mind to the tone deaf critics as this movie was excellent. I find myself re-watching this movie as much as i do the Harry Potter and Lord of The Rings/The Hobbit series, which is quite often. I do hope they release a sequel to this movie.
I happen to love this movies, especially the interactions between Diesels character and Rose's. I have watched this movie several times and can't wait for a sequel.
To write a review of this film would be an act of hubris equal to writing a sequel to the Holy Catechism, but casting Vin Diesel as the Archangel Michael. I'll just mention a few things to consider alongside or after your watching. This film contains some disturbing scenes rendered in 2015-era graphics, and cost perhaps more than 90,000,000 dollars. This was 100% Vinjamin Diesel using his own money and that of private equity firms to actualize his own childhood tabletop fantasies. I had no idea this was part of the Dungeons and Dragons Dung-o-verse until I checked the Wikipedia. How does this cinematic triumph have an 18% on this godforsaken website when that Glen Campbell movie has a 100%?? There is no justice in this world...
Entertaining. Great sounds design.
The Last Witch Hunter is really bad, but it's the kind of movie you watch to pass the time, that's what I thought.
Like usual.. you can never trust the critics or reviews. It's always up to each person to watch a film that seems promising and decide for ourselves becuz we are all so different on how we love or dislike any movie. I loved this movie. The story was solid and very easy to follow with the great directing and pace. The stylized amazing visuals were beautiful and perfectly matched with the story of magic and the battle between dark and light. The action packed pace of the story was also very well done, there wasn't a minute I was bored throughout this whole film. Vin was a great actor for his role as were all the supporting actors. Very well chosen cast with great chemistry and discord where it was needed. Highly recommended to any who like a good witchy magic storyline and action packed adventure!
I would say it's definitely worth it to check this movie out. It's not the most action packed story of all time but it has an ok story line. They could have done a little more with it and make parts of it a little more exciting. But I don't think it's a horrible movie at all. If they ever came out with part 2 I would definitely watch.
My family actually enjoyed this movie. It was entertaining the whole time. Vin diesel did a great job. I thought there was action and fantasy. Loved the modern spin concept. It is a good movie. Took me by surprise.
when will they make the second one, I cant wait any longer!
I know I'm going against the grain with this review, but my family and myself really enjoyed this movie. It kept our attention the entire time! The special effects looked amazing and I really enjoyed the lore behind the entire film. Don't understand why it was rated so low by the audience?
Great great movie!!!!! This movie is a classic, just like the 80s warlock movies. This movie was a modern make of a soon to be Colt classic.
🥰Maybe I'm a little biased.😎😁 (Vin Diesel is one of my top three favorite actors today) But, I absolutely loved this movie!
The story jumps from one set piece to another, occasionally skipping logic and character development along the way. The main antagonist is a one-dimensional villain despite her original intentions. Her motivations and backstory were not explored in a way that would have added more layers to the conflict. But despite this, it has its truly enjoyable moments. Knowledge and world building showed a rich and complex universe that I wish was more explored. Mixing ancient curses with modern witchcraft was an interesting idea that had the potential for greater depth and originality.
A bad film but fun at times. The story can at times be interesting but there are no surprises to be found in this film
I like just about every one of Vin Diesel's movies except this one. There is just nothing to make me care about the characters. The editing is bad and jumps around from scene to scene. The story line has been done before in many other movies about so called witches. (Demons, warlocks, mummies) Put Tom Cruise in the movie, The Mummy... It's basically the same movie, but the actress Playing the mummy was much more interesting than this caricature of a video game witch. Unfortunately there's nothing interesting about her or her powers. Vin Diesel seems bored and Not interested In the outcome either.
I thought it was a wild ride. Vin was good Rose was better. Michael Caine was dead for most of the movie. Still much better than most witch movies. Much better than the reviews indicate.
