The Meg Reviews
This was good until the end. Very rushed and didn’t fit the whole movie.
What a shark movie should be - action packed, fast paced, full of jump scares and huge toothy maws. I have no idea why this only gets 44% - it does exactly what it says it will - deliver giant sharks
The Meg is a B-movie creature feature that misses the mark on genre thrills and cheesy bite.
Pippin the Poodle - that was the final straw for me! C'mon somebody kill this M!
Jason Statham and sharks. Good enough
It's run of the mill "monster" movie. No plot twists, pretty straightforward.
I have watched this multiple times and it is always one of my go-tos for a my movie viewing! It has heart & a little suspense & isn't a cookie cutter movie.
I'm actually quite surprised by the low rating. I enjoyed this film and it's pretty entertaining and suspenseful at some moments. Yes, Jason Statham plays his stereotypical action roll but he's still a good actor no matter what.
It was a very interesting movie. There were some characters that I thought should have died but didn't. Very well shot.
WOW would not recommend this movie, absolutely boring, no action, no gore, I honestly think it would've been more interesting if they spent the whole movie exploring the deep seas like in the beginning since that was the only interesting part. Honestly, just watch jaws instead, the whole movie is a rip off of it.
I love shark movies and overall, not bad. Problem is only 3-5 people in this movie can act - and one of them is the kid. If you can suffer through crappy acting, it’s worth watching if there’s nothing else on.
This is my favourite comfort movie. It’s a little cheesy yes, but that’s what makes it charming. The cast are also great. It’s wild to me that this is rated so poorly. Not every movie needs to be some thought provoking masterpiece people.
Underwhelming. Was excited to watch a movie with the megalodon but very disappointed with the result. If they had written this as a creepy thriller like jaws it would have been perfect, but they instead turned it into a disappointing comedy action with cringe one-liners. Bad writing, bad story, bad direction, bad casting. Just bad.
The Meg is a good film, you will enjoy this film. The Meg is a timepass enjoyable film ⭐⭐⭐

Why am I watching this? The only thought that reverberated round my head for forty minutes. Finally, as Statham stands half naked, desperately sucking in his belly and posing for no reason whatsoever, I finally gave up. What is the point in this dross? Saw it on SKY Cinema.
Jason fan here but this movie was atrocious
The film presents itself as a revisitation of the classic Monster Movies but with a touch of hilarity and fun, a light, deliberately exaggerated film that plays with taking itself seriously without ever actually doing so. Everything is made extreme, over the top and funny by Jason Statham perfectly at ease in the role. A perfect summer blockbuster with light tones and deliberately aimed at excess. The Megalodon amuses and disturbs in the right way, complete with a final twist. The supporting characters are not too detailed and in reality they don't even need to be for a film of this type, as is the protagonist who is a ''problem-solver'' style character who survives impossible things. The Meg is everything you would expect and maybe a little more which makes it enjoyable to watch even over and over again for fun with friends over the summer.
