The Other Woman Reviews

It’s done as well as this story can be, and Don Johnson of Miami Vice is perfectly cast as Diaz’s father.

An annoying and inept mess of a movie.

| Original Score: 1/5 | Aug 24, 2022

A fairly hilarious womance showcasing Leslie Mann, whose comedic forte is wallowing in humiliation. Good stuff. She also plays a mean drunk. It's surprising there wasn't an explosion of movies in the wake of "The Other Woman," featuring her.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Apr 11, 2022

This is a movie about female bonding rather than female blaming and on that level it scores. The comedy material is often elevated and enhanced by the performer's skill, but the film has its (broken) heart in the right place.

| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Feb 1, 2021

A flawed film, but it's also a film with quite a few laughs and more than a little heart.

| Original Score: 3.0/4.0 | Sep 19, 2020

It's difficult to buy into the importance of self-reliance in a film that features vomit and poop jokes.

Oh, boy, was this movie awful.

| May 26, 2020

Performances are all over the shop - often in a worrying way - and the screenplay keeps switching tone from manic to moronic without notice.

| Original Score: 1.5/5 | May 14, 2020

I felt like I was watching Bride Wars: The Sequel. It was that caliber.

| Mar 26, 2020

This saga of the privileged runs a generic and predictable course, despite having likeable chemistry between its female leads.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Aug 30, 2019

A vast disappointment.

| Original Score: 1/5 | Jul 31, 2019

Cameron Diaz may have top billing but Leslie Mann is the real star of The Other Woman, a sisterhood revenge pic sure to be a big hit with women everywhere.

| Original Score: 6/10 | Apr 17, 2019

The Other Woman looked promising, it doesn't quite escape the confines of predictability. Instead, it is sadly a squandered opportunity to carry the funny torch ignited by Bridesmaids.

The potential peeks out every once in a while, teasing the audience that things are about to get better. But those moments quickly fade as "The Other Woman" seems more content to sticking with a safe formula.

Maybe it was the company of my BFF that made The Other Woman so funny.

| Jan 29, 2019

All things considered, this movie is fine. Although I have to say Cameron Diaz is looking a little rough these days. It strains the imagination to believe that a guy would cheat on the far more appealing Kate.

| Original Score: 6/10 | Nov 3, 2018

[Not a] masterpiece of the human condition, but [Nick Cassavetes] has managed to take a paint-by-numbers premise and inject it with enough laughs and heart to keep you entertained.

| Original Score: 7/10 | Oct 15, 2018

... instead of telling a story of empowerment and what is like for a woman to support her husband we end up with slapstick, crass lewd jokes and Leslie Mann combining the characters she played in Knocked Up and This is 40.

| Aug 22, 2018

The result is a well-meaning film that might provide a few laughs and maybe some deserved escapism, depending on your content tolerance. But if you look for anything beyond that, the cracks will be a bit too obvious.

Given the cast involved, [The Other Woman] is nothing short of a disappointment.
