The Prodigy Reviews
Not the worst I've ever seen. I didn't change the channel after the first few minutes like I normally do with the bad ones. Love the little boy actor.
Beautifully done to perfection. Truly not seeing what the problem is with the Rotten Tomato reviews. Do they not know a good movie when they see it. Take the blinders off critics.
Ignore the bad reviews and give it a watch. I really enjoyed it and would love to have seen a sequel.
No happy ending I got so upset when there's no happy ending
The only horror about this film was that someone actually created it
Its like a direct rip off of The Omen but it has promising jump scares worth the watch
While it doesn’t go as far as it could’ve, The Prodigy has an interesting concept, great acting and even some dark humor that make for an unexpected gem.
The less playing the mother is exceptionally good. This made me nauseous. Yes in India and poorer parts of the globe there's a lot of stories about reincarnation because well they want money and tend to make things up as you later find. Yet because of the convincing performances, even from the dad who barely gets involved, you can see why this impressed as far as some people stated. People are harder to please and stay loyal to the likes of zombie land and Shaun of the dead over which were awful as opposed to this film. For a supernatural horror this was convincing, realistic and disturbing. So much so it's hard to find a good horror these days. There's no undue excess, no ridiculous campy acting, no spoilt little rich American girls with loads of make up, it's not predictable it's not weak, the dialogue is better than it usually would be with modern day movies or cheap remakes and the reviews are certainly very harsh.
Very bland and uncreative. Adds nothing new that we haven't seen done before or done very well. The ending is a total cop out too. If you want to see a good Horror/Thriller I suggest looking elsewhere.
What I originally intended on seeing was this so I made it a double feature. I'm typically not a huge fan of child actors (they annoy me for some reason) but Jackson Robert Scott really gives a creepy and enjoyable performance. The movie was and wasn't what I thought it was going to be from the previews (without spoiling too much) but I did somewhat enjoy the boldness the film took with the story. A few jump scares but overall, again, you mostly see everything coming. A pass for theaters but might not be bad to catch via streaming.
‘The Prodigy' is a Familiar, Safe Evil Kid Film With a Final Act We'll Be Talking About
Not very original in the writing. Makes me think more of a across between Orphan and Insidious. However, the plot is much more basic, and less entertaining compared to those movies. Only interesting thing is how both parents agree on the child, when normally one is closed minded. Standard unoriginal, predictable "horror" movie.
half star for effort. other than that this movie is dumb and it sucks.
Very creepy creepy garbage...
Not a bad movie to watch on Halloween. Pretty creepy and enough gore to keep you interested. Ending not bad and it wasn’t expected. Worth a watch. Always enjoy anything with Taylor Schilling in it!
