The Wasp Reviews
Good! Great acting and unexpected plot twist at the end. Worth watching.
A gripping tale of revenge and the psychological desire that drives it.
For a suspended movie, it's not very suspenseful. I didn't like nor care for any of the characters; and I found the movie to be rather flat and boring.
Great movie and great acting!
After an hour of back & forth dialogue and childhood flashbacks, and not much else, it finally goes in the expected direction which is about the only direction it could go at that point. While it does get darker than expected in a manner that is less expected, it’s not shocking in 2025. Ultimately, I’m giving it a thumb’s up. While not a shining example of originality and creativity, the leads carry an otherwise boring build until it’s able to put enough of a twist on things to finish in a somewhat surprising manner. Weird title.
Now this was a Good Movie. I wasn't sure I would like it in the Beginning ( it felt like a "Chick" film/ I am Woman, look how My husband and the World treats me so bad,, Yada-Yada-Yada). But Nope! this was Well Acted, Well Written and a Great Plot. I very much enjoyed it. Note: Naomi Harris,,,,is Awesome!
The movie began well with a suggested premise of a woman trying to arrange for her husband to be killed. The first 30 minutes or so was interesting though, slow paced. But then it took a sudden turn. The wasp as a metaphor was portrayed excellently. But I still felt that the ending could be better and the entire concept of bullying and the reason Carla became a bully to Heather, although they were once friends, could be shown so we could understand the POV of both characters. Carla has had a tough life throughout and never had a happy ending....Heather on the other hand faced the consequences of being bullied as a child. PS - Heather seemed like an anxious person who should have sought medical help so that whatever she did throughout the movie as an adult, could have been avoided entirely
Not without flaws but makes for compelling watching.
Wasp have 5 eyes …I wanted close both of mine and 3 others. This movie was very Noisy like wasp but did not a deliver a Sting like a wasp. The plot was unresolved and unsettled as it the someone pulled the plug on this movie project before it was completed!!!
This movie had a lot of potential but eventually went down hill too soon causing the audience to predict everything that happened thereafter
The Wasp begins on an ambiguous note but gradually takes an intriguing turn as the protagonist's confessions unfold. The true purpose remains elusive until the very end. Though somewhat slow-paced, its unpredictability managed to hold my interest.
Terrible..started well, became enormously boring, self-indulgent, and then included a completely unnecessary CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT scene. Great acting though.
Wow. I thought this was going to be a run-of-the-mill thriller, or maybe even a "criss cross" type of thing (like Throw Mama From the Train). Didn't see the twist coming at all. The main character, Heather, had a brilliant plan that wasn't clear until the ending. Well done!
Stagey mostly two hander masquerading as a movie. But the two girls try hard and succeed for quite a while until I was snoozing.
Clever plot twists and excellent acting.
That was great ✌🏾.....good revenge story
A systematic character build up. Heather's struggles are introduced to the audience in the most tiny annoying way. But the revelation attack the petty conclusions about Heather. A symbolically rich and an emotionally provocative story. Harris and Dormer goes toe to toe in a spectacular exchange of talent. Great visuals and background setting. Equally good sound effects. Witty dialogues with deep meaning. The Wasp is not a plain boring thriller but a mixture of both action and psychological drama. A suspenseful tale about relationships and deceit that leaves a powerful impression with it's clever twists.
Wow. Plot twist to say the least. Makes you do shadow work. You’ll be thankful you were accountable as a child.
👏👏👏well played. Worth the watch.
It's well done. I actually thought the white woman's acting was the best and most believable, but strong acting all around.
