The Weekend Reviews
It was very different and enjoyable! 👍
Very slow and jokes not at all funny. Very realistic on the take of a real persons life going through heartache but could have been alot better. With all the good actirs in it, was disappointed that the script wasnt better for them, esp the jokes.
I really enjoy Stella Meghie work. Her work is timeless, smart and witty. She tells our story through our lens. Her work is refreshing and carefree. Black people can have love, wealth and a beautiful life. She gets that.
Extremely funny! I have already watched it twice & will probably watch it again after the details fade a little. And yes, it IS still funny the second time thru. Plus, the music is perfect...which always makes it even better. Enjoy!
This film got worse and worse by the minute, please avoid watching, it was awkward and confusing. It almost felt like they made it bad on purpose, this film was total waste of my time. Saddest part is that it had great actors, I expected way more of it.
This is such a great movie, it is a new and refreshing approach to normal Romantic Comedy movies. Sasheer Zamata is remarkable in this film, she is hilarious and very relatable. The all black cast was the diversity this genre of movie needed.
The acting, the directing, the music, the location, the dialogue...all of it was perfection. It came off as though it would be boring or not good at the very beginning but no! I couldn't stop watching it. It's a simple, peaceful yet dramatic movie. I know that makes no sense lol but it had such a calming, yet dramatic vibe to it, very refreshing! LOVED IT!!!
This film was funny, sweet and refreshing! It made my day! It's so wonderful to see Black people just being incredibly human on screen! Wonderful light dialogue, excellent casting, superb acting and a heart warming scenario! I think this along with The Photograph are my new go-to-feel-good films! Thank you Stella Meghie for your wonderfully brilliant writing & directing! Can't wait for more!!!!
No real thing that kept you glued to the 온라인카지노추천. My wife and I both fell asleep and we’re disappointed because we thought this was a comedy although I never saw any comment at all
The main character just came off as messy, not funny at all. She was selfish and childish, playing with the lives of two men. She irritated me....could have been better. The movie dragged me along in its venture to portray some sort of lesson.
Although the actors here have good screen presence and I liked the eclectic soundtrack, the dialogue here is awkward and at times even mean-spirited. Could not care about most of the characters. Overall, not very entertaining.
I absolutely loved this movie! It was fresh and fun to see Black Americans in roles usually reserved for caucasians. The script pulled me in until I was feeling every uncomfortable moment with each character. It wasn't a film concentrating of the character's socioeconomic status but on their character and life. So refreshing. I was surprised by the ending although its what i hoped for throughout. Definitely a must watch!!! So much fun
The Weekend feels like one of those independent comedies that thinks its clever and funny with a unique approach to a tired genre, but this one feels more like a Woody Allen retread with very unlikable lead characters, that make the more likeable supporting roles almost irrelevant.
