The World Is Yours Reviews
A strong movie.
| Original Score: 70/100 | Sep 3, 2021
It all adds up to a colourful, enjoyably chaotic story of a group of less-than-capable crooks.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Apr 29, 2019
Marvellously madcap and ruthlessly relentless.
| Apr 26, 2019
A brash and jubilant Guy Ritchie-style crime caper.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Apr 25, 2019
Gavras... deserves credit for using the auspices of a knockabout gangster comedy to take satirical sideswipes at the racial prejudices of a divided Europe.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Apr 25, 2019
A lot of good clean fun - but maybe not much more than that.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Apr 25, 2019
It's a world of aesthetic outlandishness, woozy and exciting in turn.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Apr 24, 2019
This frantic joyride through a modern, fractured Europe manages to be very funny, very stylish, and, surprisingly, very sweet.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Mar 4, 2019
The young director Romain Gavras does not reinvent the comic caper in the French film "The World Is Yours," but he revitalizes that genre with pop verve, goofy humor and visual sophistication.

Gloomy French drama has drugs, violence, some sex.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Dec 11, 2018
Fast-rising director Romain Gavras takes a giant leap forward in the feature film arena with his ballsy, Cannes-approved pulp/crime comedy The World Is Yours.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Dec 3, 2018
A fun movie with a ton of good comedic performances.

At Cannes with its notoriously unpredictable audiences the reaction to the film was overwhelmingly positive. It is your stereotypical crowd pleaser.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Nov 11, 2018
The World is Yours is a gleeful romp through one bad situation after another punctuated by a gifted cast, comedic brilliance, and imaginative writing.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Nov 3, 2018
There comes a film every once in a while that attempts to reinvent the genre, this is not that. What this does that others do not is that it incorporates more styles and cinematic genres than others of the same category.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Sep 26, 2018
A splashy, stylish, skilfully executed and supremely entertaining effort, and a mighty fun time at the cinema.
| Sep 24, 2018
All this comic-book carnage is well orchestrated by Gavras, albeit utterly preposterous even by the reality-warping standards of action thrillers.
| May 14, 2018
A fresh riff on "Les Tontons flingueurs" by way of "Jackie Brown"...
| May 14, 2018
Cassel gives a relishable display of slow-burn cluelessness, and Leklou, extremely watchable as the ineffectual Farès, comes across as a kind of French Eddie Marsan.

Tthere's still a sense that Gavras left a little meat on the bone -- that he could have done a bit more to flesh out everyone's fortunes. But The World Is Yours is such an intoxicating delight because it still manages to make you care.
