There's Someone Inside Your House Reviews

While it is easy to compare this to the admittedly more unique slashers before it, There’s Someone Inside Your House at the very least does everything on its own terms. It is not capitalizing on nostalgia or trapped in the past.

| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Jul 23, 2023

There’s Someone Inside Your House is not meant to be a parody of slasher films, but it does not have any entertaining elements.

| Jul 20, 2023

It’s slasher formula 101 – introduce the killer’s fodder (most often a group of insufferable teens) and then slice them, carve them, chop them, and impale them one by one. That’s this movie in a nutshell.

| Original Score: 1.5/5 | Aug 17, 2022

It’s like eating a cookie that’s just a little bit stale. It’s hard to complain. It’s still a cookie.

There's Someone Inside Your House is a coming-of-age slasher that doesn't deliver on its promises with a low body count, unsatisfying drama, and a lack of scares.

...bottom-of-the-barrel...

| Original Score: 1/4 | Jan 29, 2022

This film has both style and substance. Whether you're a horror aficionado or someone who merely wants a couple good thrills, this movie is worth your time.

If you're out on something that can be described as Saved by the Bell: The Reboot: The Movie: The Nightmare, that's fine. It's also your loss.

All its failings could be semi-forgiven if There's Someone Inside Your House did the one thing that was promised on the box - be frightening.

| Original Score: 1/5 | Nov 2, 2021

There are some positives to Brice's latest genre offering, but as a whole, I think we've seen stronger and more effective YA-style slashers come along this year than what we get in There's Someone Inside Your House.

| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Oct 26, 2021

There's Someone Inside Your House simply feels like a hollow and increasingly dull picture.

| Original Score: 6/10 | Oct 19, 2021

...well-made, well-acted and should keep couch-bound sleuths guessing until the end...

| Oct 15, 2021

A derivative slasher flick with elements lifted from Scream and The Hunt but sans any of their genre-defining resonance.

| Original Score: 2/4 | Oct 15, 2021

There's Someone Inside Your House offers just enough entertainment to give fans of the slasher genre what they are looking for.

| Original Score: 6/10 | Oct 14, 2021

There are some solid, inventive kills but overall the film is a bland, redundant teen slasher.

| Oct 14, 2021

Trying too hard to capture what it means to be a teen today, this film is neither insightful nor genuine, but it's sufficiently scary.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Oct 13, 2021

A better-than-average slasher, which makes it stand out among the recent crop of Netflix horror outings. Consider our expectations just barely surpassed.

| Oct 13, 2021

[A]n interesting expression of a classic subgenre using current ideas. The cast handles its business and the filmmakers aren't afraid to get bloody. A flawed, but ultimately enjoyable effort.

| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Oct 12, 2021

This newest attempt at appealing to the blossoming generation of slasher fans wears the mask of a fresh slasher, but underneath it all is a boring collection of kill scenes that uses Gen Z buzzwords for clout.

| Oct 12, 2021

A slasher shouldn't feel as boring and dragged out as this film is. From a barely functioning plot to characters we don't really root for, There's Someone Inside Your House squanders whatever potential there was from its earlier set pieces.
