an incredible sequel that’s not actually a sequel! for me, this was better than the first of the judd apatow two-movie event. we not only get a glimpse into THE family of ‘knocked up’, but it also expands into this comedy drama that’s relatable and cute to see through! the cast i as good as in the first movie, although alison and ben were deeply missed! another perfect sunday watch, but in my opinion, a funnier, and more inappropriate at the same time, family romcom!

The film effectively depicts a suburban middle-aged marriage, highlighting the truth that no marriage is perfect unless one is skilled at deception. This relatable comedy resonates with many adults. It features numerous humorous moments, and the acting was strong, particularly by the children, which I found impressive.

A cute a fun movie with sweet messages. There are a few too many serious moments for what should be a comedy, making both the comedy and the serious moments slightly less impactful.

We love this film and watch it all the time! I’m so surprised by all the poor reviews. Maybe you have to be married for 20 years with kids to get it, so many little things that ring true. And I’d watch Paul Rudd in anything, always amazing.

This movie is bad. The characters are all unlikeable. There are no good jokes. From the dialogue I get the impression that they filmed the first draft of the script. The actors could have improvised all of their lines and it would have been a better movie. I can't get past how flat the dialogue is because the movie is basically all dialogue. There is no plot. Nothing happens in the movie. The characters just talk in an uninteresting way about nothing. Maybe that was the point. Watching this movie was supposed to make you feel like you were experiencing turning 40 and that's it. Just living through an unremarkable day in the life of any person at about 40 years old.

I couldn’t finish this movie, it’s so unwatchable.

Everyone is such an asshole, Pete and Debbie are the most insufferable people I've ever seen, I'm not even finished with the movie and I hate all of it, the only likeable characters are the kids and desi, some of it is funny but the rest is just rich assholes be annoying and rude to everyone around them, overall sucks 🤮

An awful movie about awful, spoiled, horrible people behaving horribly to each other and teaching their children to do the same. The only likable character is an authentically superficial escort. What was Judd Apatow thinking? Why write a script with only despicable characters? Was he trying to influence people to hate L.A.? If so, then it's a great movie. Otherwise it is a monumentally bad one.

One of a handful of films with ratings on RT that I wildly disagree with, but one I saw for the first time before I saw how it was rated here. Thoroughly enjoyed it three times in the last 12 years, and not inclined to watch movies more than once. Love Leslie Mann, Paul Rudd and several others in the cast so much, including Melissa McCarthy's contributions. [Didn't know until the second viewing that Mann and Apatow's own daughters played the girls in the movie. Seemed like they were real sisters on screen not only because they are, but equally because they carry their roles with skill, talent, and ease. Always a big fan of their folks -guess I'm sick in the head too. ;-)

The acting is fine in the movie. There are scenes that made me chuckle. Most of it felt disjointed and relying on shallow, cliché characters behaving in ways that didn't feel real for characters that are 40. I found myself at times wondering who was watching the kids as the two parents were off doing their own thing. Other times, I found myself wondering who much time was left in the movie. It was way too long.

We know three things for sure: the sun will rise in the east, it will set in the west, and Judd Apatow will always make an otherwise good movie 40 minutes too long.

Hilariously seamless comedy that plays off the hard times in life. Depressing yet realistic with hopeful & healing messages about commitment & family. Career highs from Rudd & Mann with some of the most quick witted laughs ever.

A few laughs here and there, but mainly just awful unnatural dialogue and even bad acting, which is surprising considering the talent they packed, hence I suspect bad writing or directing. Perhaps the script was just so over-worked that it becomes impossible to deliver those dialogues in a natural way, I don't know, and I can't explain it, I just know it when I see it. Essentially, it feels like actors reading lines back and forth, lines that was way more funny in the writers head than to everyone else.

60%. 2/27/24. Some genuine chuckles but overall just moderately funny. Some pretty outrageous moments. 1.5/5 rewatch

Very good. This idea of sneaking cupcakes is severely depressing to me.

I just didn't like it. Oh, there were a few funny episodes, but mostly it was crass. Selfish people who only cared about themselves, lying, trying to be "cool".. in fact, the whole movie basically was "how cool is this" and none of it was cool. But it does reflect the general attitude of the American public about "do it and then ask for forgiveness later".

Not my cup of tea. This movie mad no sense to me. The crude parts of which there were plenty were not entertaining. Bad writing, bad production and the poor actors could certainly not save it. Please do not waste your time.

Very slow movie, watched and waited for it to get interesting, but fell short.
