Transformers: Dark of the Moon Reviews
Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a flawed film, yes, but it’s not nearly as bad as Revenge of the Fallen and takes major steps into the franchise.
| Original Score: B- | Aug 19, 2024
Are we forgetting compelling humans actors in this? Apparently so, but you won't find one intelligent or compelling in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon." They are all thin, dumb, and forgettable.

But at the heart of the myth, the Transformers have always been toys and Bay should treat them as such, psyching himself up to tell the tried and true story of action and adventure. [Full review in Spanish]

Soulless, cynical, and stupid.
| Original Score: 1/4 | Jun 6, 2023
I enjoyed many of the crazy swings it takes. And it’s just cohesive enough to hold our interest until the next big set piece comes along. And in these movies that’s often all some people want.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Jun 1, 2023
Bay’s direction and the script are chaotic and unfocused, challenging attentive viewers to find cohesion where there is none.

While it remains Michael Bays most believably realized vision of a humans-vs.-robots apocalypse, it also represents an emergence of Bays more politically and socially enigmatic side that has since dominated much of his work, "Transformers" or otherwise.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Apr 29, 2022
The plot is even more of a convoluted, melodramatic mess than its predecessor.
| Original Score: 3/10 | Nov 30, 2020
Quite likely the film that Michael Bay has been trying to put together all along.
| Original Score: 2.5/4.0 | Sep 26, 2020
Michael Bay almost made a good and awesome Transformers film... But he shoots himself in the foot repeatedly during the last hour, bringing the film down to the same level as "Revenge of the Fallen".

It's big, it's brash, it's loud, it's dumb and it's mostly entertaining if that's what you're up for.
| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Aug 29, 2019
A completely unhinged whirlwind of epic action that is truly astounding.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Jun 8, 2019
There's nothing too complex about the film (other than the parade of special effects and explosions), but it's mindless fun that works on its own level.
| May 7, 2019
So how does Michael Bay justify making a third? Why, by making the film a little dense as to plot, and giving it perhaps the longest climax ever in Hollywood history.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Apr 2, 2019
The obnoxious and ungrateful shall inherit the Autobots, the power and the cash.

the actual Transformers action in Transformers: Dark of the Moon looks great and should please those who enjoy the format. Getting there, however, transforms what should be a brisk set-up into a long haul.
| Original Score: B- | Feb 13, 2019
Like its immediate predecessor, Dark of the Moon is loud, dumb, and dull. It's as much an assault on the senses as it is on the intelligence
| Original Score: D | Nov 1, 2018
There ought to be a way to make a live-action film about giant shapeshifting robots that's either a) fun or b) awesome... It's blatantly evident that Bay can only just about manage b) long enough to provide the shots needed to cut into a trailer.

In the hands of director Michael Bay, this battle is bound to be over the top, and the special effects amaze.
| Mar 22, 2018
As with most of his films, Michael Bay doesn't take the less-is-more approach when it comes to spectacle. That he saves for his convoluted screenplay and flat human characterizations.
