This was a beautiful film. Stephen Frys role was incredible , he deserves an Oscar. I was so touched by this story. I wish I could have done a similar trip with my parents

Stunning film. Anyone with a heart must be touched by this beautiful father-daughter relationship. Made me think of my own experience with my dad and our trip back to China. Love Lena Dunham.

Treasure was a very nice film, old fashioned in the way it was just great film-making. The acting, the story, the setting was all very refreshing. It is a film that makes you laugh and also brings you to tears.

This is an extremely well-done film about trauma and how it is passed down through generations. Had the protagonists been anything other than Jewish the critics would have loved it. Lena Dunham is the daughter of Polish holocaust (Auschwitz) survivor played by Stephen Fry (who did a great job but I would have been more comfortable with a Polish actor thus distracting from the sometimes missing Polish accent). The film starts out a bit clunky and disjointed but one learns that it is an appropriate framing of the father daughter relationship. We observe their trek to their Polish hometown and the current occupants (set in 1991). While this film is about the horror of the holocaust it is also about how that impacts all aspects of survivors' lives and their children. Excellently done and well worth seeing.

Treasure was a truly moving film, I loved the relationship between father and daughter and all the important subjects it explored in a very accessible way. Stephen Fry and Lena Dunham were both terrific.

Great movie, very thought provoking. Movies like that must be made so one can never forget.

If there's an elegant way to tell a story about the shadows and broken histories of the Holocaust, it's not the right way. Thankfully this film dares to be messy. Set against the dreariness of early 90s Poland (which brought back suffocating memories for this viewer, who went on similar journeys around that time), "Treasure" never tries to be stylish, smart or perfect. Thank Heavens for that. The writing, the direction by Julia von Heinz and the performances by Dunham and Fry are never sure-handed or smooth as they careen between denial, vulnerability, shock, laughter, tears. There's a rawness to it all, a willingness to be uncomfortable. That is exactly the triumph of this little treasure of a film.

An intimate film , about personal histories written large and small. Excellent writing, characters are likable but imperfect. Does deal with the question How do we move on from a disaster/horror in our life? Im not a repeat movie watcher, but I will see this one again.

Well done small true story! Such a time in history and though more are forgetting it everyday, we must make sure the youth of the world are aware of what really happened during 1 940-1945. Stephen Fry was excellent as was Lena.

I really enjoyed this movie. During this time where so many people want to minimize the holocaust and the plight of the Jewish people, we need films like this to remind us of the horrors of WWII. The film was somehow lighthearted while still giving us a glimpse of the Poland fifty years after the end of the war. My only constructive criticism is I wished the characters were better introduced. Maybe if we saw them in NYC and had a bit more backstory, we would have connected with the characters sooner. I still would recommend the film. You will laugh and cry. You will get angry. Its a rollercoaster of emotions. Go see it!

Intense drama should not be called a comedy. Great acting by Dunham & Frye. Horrific that this really happened. Never forget.
