Do not hesitate to throat punch anybody that says this movie sucks and unfriend them in life quickly. You don't need that kind of negativity!

It's the first movie in years that made me laugh so much. Only saw it for the first time today. What a gem!

Tropic Thunder is a 2008 satirical action comedy film directed by Ben Stiller 🚁 While, the first half is much better than the second half, this is a fun and entertaining movie with lots of visual and spoken gags. Definitely one for the boys… It’s very good! 😀 I’d definitely recommend it 👍🏼 A group of self-absorbed actors set out to make the most expensive war film ever. After ballooning costs force the studio to cancel the movie, the frustrated director refuses to stop shooting, leading his cast into the jungles of Southeast Asia, where they encounter real bad guys.

A wacky, fun, and completely random movie with great performances. Got some great laughs out of it.

Possibly the funniest movie I have ever seen. I remember tears coming down my face the first time I saw it. If you love satire, and one of the greatest cast ever assembled, you will love this movie!

I mean, it was really funny. But the rest of the movie was just kinda there. Like they gave us an idea of what to expect early, but seemed to do away with that idea for basically the rest of the film. Kinda mid imo

The worst movie I've ever seen. It's the only movie I've ever paid for, but walked out of the theater before it was over. That's all I would say (or felt like I could say) about the movie if it ever came up in conversation. But I figured I'd give it another shot in Jan 2025. There have been a few "out there" movies I didn't "get" the first time (Super Troopers, Napoleon Dynamite, etc) and thought maybe that was the case with this. Nope. I've seen it start to finish now and can accurately say it's the worst movie I've ever seen. It's not offensive to me, but it's just not smart or funny or anything positive. The tropes it's supposed to be caricaturing are just obvious so I don't really understand what I'm supposed to laugh at. The whole movie is like a bad impression of Jerry Seinfeld: "What's the deal with <topic>?! *uncomfortable silence* Am I right?!"

A stupid, shallow, self-absorbed hollywood movie (stupid plot of a movie within a movie) that falls totally flat. It’s all-star cast couldn’t save it. The only thing that gave me a bit of a laugh was the trailers. As a side note, I did appreciate Robert Downey He’s acting, but it couldn’t redeem the movie.

Very funny and meta comedy that actually features very surprising oscar-worthy acting, ironically enough.

Incredible and hilarious classic

Hilarious jokes, a randomly talented cast, clever premise, and absurd comedic moment certainly make Tropic Thunder a wild form of entertainment. Even though it has it's funny, but controversial moments, and is not quite as good upon future rewatches.

Tropic Thunder doesn’t care what you think about this film. You don’t deserve it. But, it’s funny.

It’s crazy but genius. But very crazy.

This movie is just too damn funny. The people in involved really put themselves to work in each of their roles. Especially, Robert Downey jr who hilarious play “black face” for the his role. Although, narratively speaking it may not be anything overly captivating, I would argue that that’s not the point here. The reason for the movie is to make you laugh. If you will allow yourself to put your political correctness aside for a couple of hours, I can almost guarantee you will have a damn good time watching this one with a couple of homies.

Anybody criticizing this movie is doing so because of their PC attitudes and would love Simple Jack.. This movie is hilarious and has balls. Which is why you'll never see another one like it so busta nut and grab a can of booty sweat.

Robert downey jr was so good in this movie. Tom cruise steals the show for me. The chemistry of the cast works so well. The plot is dumb but the comedy is gold. A movie worth revisiting every other year. Would highly recommend.
