Two Weeks Reviews

Such a real, moving movie. Must see so you understand better the process

This is a really good movie. Both funny and sad. You'll laugh out loud and cry out loud. It did horrible at the box office, 2006-2007. I suspect this time period was the beginning of the end of people's support of Hollywood films, unless they were huge blockbusters. People got tired of celebrities pontificating politically.

Another movie where the creators are given no option but to appeal to the lowest denomination of vapid movie goers and maybe fans of Sally Field, the queen of superficial compassion. None of the roles give any of the characters enough density as grieving siblings who's lost humor is so thin and unoriginal. This film lacked the edginess that defines a good Dark Comedy. Sally field may be dieing but her hair color, oddly a silky bouncy beautiful chestnut brown will not betray her youthful face with a single strand of grey.

I loved it. I’ve been in that situation, with friends his family, and it felt just like that. It was touching it was heart wrenching and of course Sally Fields S always gave an amazing performance! Y’all reviewers get off your high horse is it was a good movie.

One of my absolute favorite movies!

An interesting and ultimately depressing movie that was at times hard to watch. The story of a family who have grown apart as they grow older isn't exactly an overly original idea, in fact nothing in this film is fresh or original, except for the scene where the rabbi is yelling at the comatose mother - that was pretty funny. Regardless of whether this film treads old ground, it is still an interesting and enlightening film to watch. Sally Field is amazing as the dying mother, at times you can't help but get a lump in your throat when she's on screen, truly an amazing actress. With her death being inevitable the audience plays a waiting game to see how it will play out. The banter between the four children, and at times their spouses is on the whole entertaining black comedy, but nothing in this film raises it above a good film that will mostly likely fly under the radar and in time be forgotten.

My mother died December 1st 2012 from lung cancer. I wached this movie about a week and a half after she died and it was very very accurate with the dying process and the attitude ofthe children during the whole process. There are 3 of us and we fought we cried and we loved together. I really liked this movie it hit home with me.

This was excellent. For anyone contemplating having one child or more than one: I am convinced that had I seen this at the right time, I'd probably have had more than one kid.

My mother is battling brain cancer (gliobastoma multiforme) Its the kind of cancer you wouldnt wish on your worst enemy. Soon we will move on from surviving surgery and radiation and chemo to slowly deteriorating & then... the inevitable. I cannot bear to let her go but it will happen and I will have to watch. I was flipping channels with my mom recently. This movie had just started ... And there it was - what we were going through. It was like it knew our story, our pain, our thoughts. This movie was brave, honest & bold. This doesn't deserve a rotten tomato. Shame on whomever nominated it. Thank you Steve Stockman for making this movie. Perhaps it's a good thing that many of you couldn't relate... For your sakes I hope that you will never have to

Wonderful portrayal of family love, grieving, and death. Sally Field was brilliant.

Excellent movie, Sally Field is great and this is a perfect example of how family really is

The filmmakers' hearts are definitely in the right place with Two Weeks, but it's not enough. They appeared to stumble into a number of cinematic cliches; at several points, in fact, I could almost predict the action and/or dialogue. The closing scene alone -- a tone deaf slapstick absurdity that adds nothing to the moment -- was enough to merit a full star reduction, in my opinion. But the interstitials featuring a surprisingly boring confessional from the dying mother (Sally Fields) was the most troubling aspect of the film. It was clear the post production team did not know how to effectively weave these potentially enlightening tid-bits into the overall narrative. Consequently, the primary character's final thoughts become virtual speeds bumps for an already sluggish movie. Two Weeks begins to feel more like a feature length television drama cobbled together with individual episodes that spanned who knows how many weeks on basic cable. A quality cast like this really deserves a more courageous script and a better editor.

What a horrible movie and horrible way to waste money! while watching this thing you will be prompted to skip to Sally Field's parts... the rest is sad, retarded black humor and a tetric timeline

Dec 16, 2011

What a terribly sad story. The actors were brilliant, but it was a movie with a hard theme to watch.

Sally Field is amazing in this movie as she always is!!

Deep movie exploring deep issues of family and dying. You'll probably need tissues though there are comedy moments. Cast, cinematography, and story are all excellent. Each character is well formed. Confirms we are all human.

no gonna lie, this was an EXTREMELY hard film for me to watch as my mom went thru the same stages having cancer also.... but field's acting was profound, and there were a few funny moments (i.e. the "asst. rabbi", getting kicked out of the grocery store over oj).
