Under the Shadow Reviews
This movie was more frustrating than scary. The main character is brain dead and doesn’t do anything sensible in the entire movie. If you are influenced by the high ratings on rotten tomato and elsewhere, we were fooled too. Not worth watching at all. Unless you are fond of flying bedsheets.
I love horore movies and this was goob ok i play fortnite now bye bye
Completamente pífio.
Completamente pifio.
Great reviews on line but I found it lacking foundation for the “scary stuff” which wasn’t scary in the least. Acting was fair but the mother was mad at everything and completely unlikeable, the daughter not much better.
......like who risks their lives just for a doll???? She would've made another doll coz you can see that doll is knitteble.
Amazing movie 🍿 Great acting..SPINE CHILLING HORROR BRILLIANT JUST AWESOME!
Another highly regarded horror film that wasn’t particularly scary. It was well acted, particularly by the little girl and was slightly atmospheric but it again felt long even for the short runtime because the Shem scary moments weren’t worth the tedious buildup. Watched on DVD.
I watched this film in a Film Festival. The actors actually did fell very real. This felt like a documentary when it comes to acting. This movie is one of the perfect examples of how commercial and art cinema can mix up. The main character is haunted by jinn, saving herself and her little kid from life and death situation but the main concern of the system is she's not wearing hijab.
Its more of war horror than the actual Djinn.
The cinematography and the all-Iranian (or of Iranian descent) cast is commendable, but as a supernatural thriller it does not fully delivers.
The story was pretty simple and a bit melodramatic, which means doom for being a horror movie. The cultural background is consistent but that makes the protagonist and her daughter unlikable. The ending was a tight squeeze.
Valla pedazo de mierda de película me he comido por hacer cazo a esta página
It is a great slow burn movie that build tension for the viewers without compromising visceral and intellectual reasoning. Because it adds mythological component and psychological barriers in a survival situation it slowly feeds the anxiety and suffering of the character. Under the shadows influence viewers from the anxiety of its environment, far beyond monsters and myths, the movie itself shows what the real conflicts is from the start.
This was extremely boring to watch. Super slow to pick up the plot. The mother daughter dynamic was infuriating to sit through. The movie is dubbed in English so it's hard to speak on the true acting abilities but the voice over dubbing was atrocious. It felt like a movie about lifestyle during the Iran-Iraq war with bit of supernatural afterthought thrown in at the end to throw on a genre. I truly do not understand why this score is so high.
For the Muslims, the country it's set in, the time era it's set on and our belief of the supernatural, it hits home, very well done, very accurate
Interesting in the movie is that apparently the war is the center of the plot, but for me it seems that central is the idea that every moment visits the protagonist: "You are a useless, a bad mother." Good movie and great performance of actress Narges Rashidi.
It tries to be interesting with the war thing but it fails and the jumpscares and all that scary stuff was not scary honestly the most overrated movie of all time
This movie was dumb ah and boring
