Movie had a purpose and delivered. Relaxing slice of life to go along with for a couple hours. Mission accomplished.

I absolutely adore this movie, it’s co comforting, inspiring, and visually beautiful, it makes me want to start over, move to a gorgeous country, meet new people, and see where life takes me. It will always make you feel good. The costume and set designs were lovely, particularly for Catherine, but also Frances’s white dress, and the orange dress she wears for the wedding. It's the type of feel good movie you would like to see on a weekend. It would make you want to travel, escape and embark on a new chapter in your life.

This is an amazing movie! I love the beautiful scenery and warmth from the actors. My boyfriend also enjoyed it which is rare when I get to pick our date night movies. This is a must see for romantic film fans.

Great Film! They do not make many like this anymore. They would ruin it today with their updates pleasing everyone. This movie was so much fun. I lived in Italy for 3 years! My mom's side is Italian by ancestry. Proud of that. My dads side mostly Irish. with twists of English.

Me apaixonei pelo filme, comprei o DVD, assisti incontáveis vezes, comprei o livro de onde surgiu a história, pois SIM, este filme é baseado em fatos reais, comprei outro livro da mesma autora, chama "Um Ano de Viagens", e terminei durante um de meus mochilões sozinha pela Europa. Encerrei a leitura e mandei por correio este livro para meu grande amigo de infância que hoje em Londres, e o filme favorito dela (que ele também ama) é Under the Tuscan Sun. Quando pedi o endereço dele (ele sabia que eu estava em Sevilla), ele imaginava que eu enviaria um cartão postal, mas ficou maravilhado quando enviei o livro do qual havíamos conversado a respeito uma semana antes juntos em Londres. Falamos sobre Under The Tuscan Sun também, inclusive. No livro eu mandei um marca páginas que comprei em Sevilla marcando uma página com uma frase que havíamos conversado a respeito que é muito significativa aos reais viajantes como nós, que sentem a a emoção viagem. "A urgência de viajar é hipnótica. Duas das minhas palavras preferidas estão associadas: 'hora' de 'partida'. Viajar aguça as emoções, vira de ponta-cabeça a memória, e as moedas douradas se espalham." Frances Mayes. Digníssimo o livro dela, Under the Tuscan Sun, ter se tornado um filme - belíssimo por sinal. P.S.: a casa de Frances Mayes - conhecida como Villa Bramasole em Cortona, Itália, existe mesmo, é possível ser vista à distância e é dela (atualmente viva) até os dias de hoje (2023). Um encanto.

This came out several years ago, but I finally watched it on Prime. I managed to catch Stealing Beauty on some cable channel (years ago) , another movie set in Tuscany, and while neither are in my usual "wheelhouse", I enjoyed both of them, with the leads in both films doing a great job (Diane Lane, and Liv Tyler). While Beauty was a bit sexier (thanks to Tyler), both films made me wish I was rich, so I could move to Tuscany, purchase a little villa, and live there as an American ex-pat, as the scenery in both movies is outstandingly beautiful. And I've been told by my brother, a former flight attendant, that Italy has the best food in the world.

Generally we watch action movies but tonight I felt like a romance. My husband, in shock and somewhat worried, obliged and I chose this one. We love Italy, the culture and the food, and this film showcases all this beautifully. There's a lot of humour which we enjoyed, and I certainly found myself laughing out loud a bit. It is fairly light-hearted and I love the main character played by Diane Lane. All the acting was superb. It was a feel good film and when my husband (he is Italian) said, at the end, " I actually enjoyed that," I knew it was a 5 "starer."

This is classic, feel-good movie about a divorcee finding a new lease on life in a Tuscan village. I would definitely watch this again.

This is the kind of movie that you can rewatch a thousand times and you never get bored of it. There's no need to think about anything else to enjoy it but, if you pay attention to the details, it can also have a deeper message. It has it all to be the comfort movie that it already is

A fun progressive rom-com for its day that was well made enough to still entertain. It was on VUDU.

Diane Lane is very sweet and charming in this movie. After divorce Frances( Diane) goes a trip in Italy, that's smart idea get some fresh air and restart. She incidentally bought a house in Tuscany, Italy. The Spectacular scenery brings much joyful. How every that was a very impulsively life changing decision though. She choose to leave the husband right away with out more entanglements after divorce with the husband cheated on her, learned to live again, freed not just from the enchain of an unaware of dying marriage but from the persistent and distracting swirling of life. Totally different style with the movie" Let Him go", but just ever - radiant timeless Diane.

I will watch most movies set in Italy. Many plots disappoint, but Italy's landscape never does. This movie turned out to be as enjoyable as its picturesque views. Simple, heartfelt, and aesthetically pleasing.

This movie is such a heartwarming, lovely movie. It's a movie that I can watch over and over. It is a movie that makes me feel good. I can be depressed, not feeling good and when I watch this, it makes me feel good. I would highly recommend it!

There wasn't nearly enough of a story to keep me engaged.
