Unstoppable Reviews
Starts out a bit slow ,but then really picks up steam. It's one you'll watch more than once. It's great fun to watch with people that have never seen it.
Tony Scott’s last feature film is an solid thriller with great set pieces, fantastic cast and well done Oscar nominated sound editing
A loud, fast paced action about an unmanned train is a decent watch.
Unstoppable is an intense, high-energy thriller that keeps you on edge from start to finish. The premise is simple but packed with tension, and the performances by Denzel Washington and Chris Pine elevate the film. Their chemistry makes the stakes feel real, and you genuinely connect with their characters. The movie does a great job of building suspense, and the pacing never lets up, making it an easy and engaging watch. That being said, the script didn't fully hold up for me. While I understand the need for character-building moments, some of the dialogue felt excessive and took away from the urgency of the story. The film could have focused more on developing the plot instead of lingering on conversations that didn't add much. I also had issues with the cinematography, especially the constant swirling camera movements. It felt like an attempt to create a sense of motion and energy, but instead, it became distracting and even frustrating at times. Despite its flaws, Unstoppable delivers where it counts. The action sequences are well-executed, the intensity is gripping, and the climax is satisfying even if expected. It may not have the strongest script, but the solid performances and non-stop momentum make it an entertaining ride. If you're looking for a fast-paced thriller with strong leads and adrenaline-pumping moments, it's worth a watch.
Perhaps THE best parody of the action and disaster film of the 2000s!* Two ordinary men want to stop a runaway train that is loaded with toxic substances and is heading straight for a dangerous curve in the middle of a city, in the immediate vicinity of which there is also a fuel depot. All other attempts to stop the train have failed spectacularly. An ode to the simple, hard-working people of Pennsylvania. A real men's and boys' film!** The whole thing is filmed in the same way as the trap sequences in the "Saw" films. Only this one is about a train. The color grading comes straight from hell. Everything is constantly rotating, or wobbling or zooming back and forth. The setting, the action and the two main actors actually make "Unstoppable" a good watch. *Because: If it were meant seriously, the film would be extremely stupid. **Is that why there is a prominent Hooters placement?
I really enjoyed this. It doesn't drag and is a quick, tight watch. Tony Scott rarely misses. He does great here. Denzel is one of the best to ever do it, so he is great as per usual. Pine and Dawson are also good. Good, fun movie.
The first half of the movie is pretty good, the second half is so corny, constantly showing shots of lots of people watching it LIVE, which is just silly. This is a "watch once" movie for me.
Brilliant film, I can't say anything else without spoiling it, go watch this film. 9.1/10.
I love this movie, it sucks me in every time it replays on cable. Being based on a true story is always a hard hitting draw for me and this movie fully delivers. The actors were a great choice, I love the interplay between them all even though Rosario Dawson does stand out as my close favourite. You don't get a lot to support the brief back story for the main cast but I find it ends up being just enough to make you love them all. Most importantly to my review, I think the director chose a brilliant, live footage type look to the filming where it seems like someone filmed most of it with a camcorder spliced with T.V News footage to give it that exciting edge a story like this deserves. I've always laughed at the unfortunate luck the train had heading into a severe turn where the city planners decided that sure.. this is where we should build huge explosive silos of flammable liquid - as a seriously bad movie trope lol because it's literally the worst place a city could locate supply like that. Then I found out its based on a real story sooo.. yes, can't blame Hollywood if that part was true too lol Either way, I still love this movie as a non stop action packed ride of adrenaline that was realized perfectly for film.
I love Tony Scott movies. I wish he was still here. This was based on a true story that happened in 2001 in Ohio not Pennsylvania. I love Denzel and Chris Pine in this movie. I love me some Rosario Dawson. Great score and action. This movie hits hard every time. 10/10 EPIC FANTASTIC action movie
Tony Scott was a terrible director, usually choosing duff scripts and then massively overdoing them. This is one of his worst: a stupid premise - almost a carbon copy of his equally dreary Pelham 123 remake - runaway train, tedious 'tension', neurotic camera pans, another incredibly dull phoned-in performance by Hollywood's most uninteresting actor, Denzel Washington. This will send you to sleep at 65 mph.
Great action movie. Great acting. Realistic situations. Real thrill ride.
This is a RUNAWAY TRAIN movie. Continuous action, thrills, & suspense, somewhat like that old train movie starring BORNINE, & the long scene shootout on a train in the 1964(or 3?) classic HOW THE WEST WAS WON. In this one, DENZEL W. is the hero, as the conductor of another train trying to hook up and slow down the runaway. Giving it 4 stars out of 5, cuz thrilling! Never knew anything about this one until saw on the tv set 12.5.23. Note to sef, next time, wat the first hour........ closely.
Denzel Washington and Chris Pine work great together in this film that's based on a true story
Formulaic & predicable yet triumphantly inspiring with great intensity. Straightforward & tight writing that just worries about the essentials. The score & lead actors build a fitting tone. Nothing new but lots of fun.
Unstoppable is an action-packed, dramatized version of a true story. Despite parts of it being embellished to make a more exciting movie, the characters felt very human and real. I would definitely watch this again.
Must watch. This breathtaking masterpiece had me on the edge of my seat.
The story which this movie is based on is interesting, but I didn't like how the movie handled the story. The camera movements seemed weird at times, also how the characters in the movie would talk to each other felt forced at times.
Beside unrealistic logics it's a good movie; endless suspense thriller
Um bom filme que te deixa aflito e ligado do início ao fim.
