This was a well acted and disturbing thriller. Beckinsale and Wilson are perfect as a couple that is in the absolute dying throes of a relationship, who are frighteningly cast together in order to spare themselves a horrific outcome. Frank Whaley is perfectly cast as the creepiest of the creepy. This movie is dark and riveting.

Even though I can never take Owen Wilson or his brother Luke seriously. This movie was way better than it probably had any right to be.

Is Psycho meets Saw meets The Strangers in a very effective home invasion slasher horror snuff movie and is really creepy and scary as hell.

The plot is disjointed and illogical at many points and seems to run out of ideas on how the cat and mouse chase can keep going. The last 10 minutes of the movie basically is why this movie was made that the bad guys got what they deserved

Though it didn't quite terrify me, the constant sense of impending danger kept me thoroughly engaged. Stranded in a desolate motel, the protagonists' obliviousness to the peril surrounding them sets the stage for a suspenseful journey filled with unexpected twists.

This slasher horror is kind of good, acting is alright and the couple are very believable about each other. It does have very typical horror tropes like stuck in one location and trying to a survival the night and the owner or manager already weird how he been acting. The movie does a good job setting up everything real quickly even with the running time. Do like there is lot twists and turns as movie goes forward plus ending is kind of good. All in all boat bad I give a B-👍🏽👍🏽

Worth watching suspenseful till end.

Judging based on its budget and genre, this was pretty good. It's not high art (high horror), but it does the genre justice. Production quality and acting were theater-quality (which you can't say for most horror on streaming platforms).

Buena película, una cinta que no es la gran cosa pero que cumple. Es una película muy entretenida que desde el primer momento te engancha con la situación que esta viviendo la pareja y desde que llegan al hotel se va construyendo una tensión que rompe muy bien en el momento en el que descubren toda la verdad sobre el lugar en el que están. Me gusta que los protagonistas no conozcan el lugar en el que están lo que se les hace mas difícil al momento de escapar de la gente de ahí. Esperaba algunas decisiones mas tontas de ambos protagonistas pero para mi sorpresa no hay mas que una. Ese tipo de cosas mas los comportamientos de los locos del hotel que pueden matarlos a ellos fácilmente y no lo hacen son las cosas que no me terminan de cerrar, sin embargo yo creo que cumple con la función de entretener y contar una historia tensa. Por ultimo, destacar las actuaciones de Luke Wilson, Kate Beckinsale y Frank Whaley. En conclusión, una buena película para pasar el rato viendo algo tenso y entretenido que no cuenta una historia increíble pero que te mantiene enganchado desde el principio hasta el final. La recomiendo.

Fantastic motel horror thriller, unlike the new one Bad Things which was terribly but somehow got better reviews than this! The directing, acting and music are all great from start to finish and the story is grade A.

In my opinion, she is the horror queen of the 21st century. Because he acted in many movies of this genre. But I think this is the one film where an English lady plays her best role. This movie was released in 2007 and the name of the movie is Vacancy. This brutal film shows several elements. 1) Abandoned motels are scary. 2) The motel owner may be a maniac. Luke Wilson played the lead role in this movie, but I think Kate's performance was better. (Beckinsale and Wilson had conflict on the set because Wilson was drunk at times) I really like the last scene where Kate shows her class and she kills three assassins. Not many people will stay in abandoned motels after seeing this movie. Because they understand that these places are not safe.

Been several years since I've watched it and I was again pleasantly surprised. It's well acted, the suspense is great, ambiance and directing was also great. It's creepy and even though it has some pretty cliche moments it's still well made. 80/100

Vacancy is an under-rated psychological thriller. That is gripping and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Although movies like this are appealing to me on some level, "Vacancy" best describes how my head feels after watching it.

Decent horror that can prey on a lot of people's innermost fears. That said, I do think the characters were really stupid - why didn't they disable the cameras in the room? For a weapon, why didn't they take off the metal rails for the drawers instead of a piece of glass, or the springs from the bed? Or maybe booby trap some things??

A fairly decent horror flick, pretty predictable and formula stuff. The moral of the story is don't ever drive an older BMW because they will leave you stranded every time. Had they had an old Toyota they would have made it past their troubles.
