V/H/S: Viral Reviews
V/H/S: Viral’s wraparound tries to be hip and cool by featuring some supernatural viral thing that makes people’s nose bleed out? Also, it also has Kevin trying to try to go viral by recording the ice cream truck chase? This is so fucking confusing in all other ways which makes it even more of an annoyance to watch. All the other segments are just something. Dante The Great is an corny and stupid segment about some magician with some good aspects, Parallel Monsters would be an interesting and fine segment but the twist with the monster private parts is so gross and feels like they try to combine the freaky vibes from the first V/H/S and the cult monster stuff from the second V/H/S. Finally, Bonestorm follows slightly better douchebags and assholes from the first V/H/S that fuck up strangers’ daily life and go to Tijuana to get high? I don’t know it’s confusing as hell. Overall, this is a mess of a movie that poorly captures the found footage and “going viral” and is easily the worst in the franchise which caused the franchise to go in hibernation for 7 years before Shudder gave us V/H/S/94. You don’t need to see this one to get caught up. 2/10
This is maybe one of the least enjoyable movie I've ever seen. It is very boring, it's acting is awful, it's not redeemable at all. This movie sucks and I love the rest of the vhs franchise so it is very disappointing.
I would rather sit on a cactus than suffer through this garbage again.
I didn't understand what I was watching.
This was a disappointment for the franchise that made it go into hibernation for 7 years.
The V/H/S franchise is one of the best offerings of the horror genre, but Viral is the reason it went dormant for nearly a decade. Insincere, inconsistent and just plain stupid, this is the one installment I can only recommend to fans of the franchise or hardcore horror fans, if just to see how bad it got before SHUDDER saved the series with V/H/S/94
I simply cannot bring myself to rate this higher than a 2/10, this is only fun if your 1. High, 2. High, or 3. Drunk, this is a sloppy excuse for a film and aged like milk, don't watch, not even for a dare
There's definitely some superfluous fluff as well as cheesy meatballs material in this one, but the overall message was ahead of its time, and I can't help thinking if it were released now, it would be received better.
2014's 'V/H/S Viral' wants to continue the hype from the previous two installments but fails dramatically. SYNOPSIS: 'A Los Angeles police chase sends a fame-obsessed man on a wild ride to save his girlfriend from a cybernetic terror.' There are some interesting ideas here for stories but the most annoying thing about this collection is that it's dumber than its predecessors when it really shouldn't be. It's a lazy film though. It contains some of the sloppiest, most ineffective filmmaking I've seen in a long time. That's not defendable. A mess! 5/10
Way underrated! Particularly Dante the Great and Parallel Monsters ended up being the best and most interesting VHS segments out of them all! The base story was ridiculous though. Whoever is behind the directing of that base story that runs the background in this VHS, has no clue what he’s doing. The camera super close up and shaky the entire time and stupid glitches in the feed were all done so bad and chaotically that you have no idea what’s happening. And it doesn’t help that nobody speaks the whole time. But overall, this is actually my favorite VHS movie. The stories and execution, except for the base story, were all done fantastically and very unique, original ideas. VHS94 and 99 are close seconds.
🍀 2.9/10 There’s a huge part of me that wants to like this, but it’s just so bad. I guess the overarching segment is. Vicious circle and it’s pretty bad. It has glimmer of goodness, but is overall tarnished by weird tiny pieces that really just don’t fit and whatever the fuck that family barbecue was, was just so cringy 0.5/10 Dante, the great. OK now this is actually really entertaining if you look at it from a satire it’s a great comedy not at all what I want from V/H/S but like it has just hilarious moments but overall really unneeded 2/10 the swat fight was pretty fun Parallel monster. I feel like I should like this more because it has a strong beginning, but I just got bored at the end, but I mean like bro that last shot was a bombastic with his head going in like WTF. 4.5/10 Bonestorm. Another that I feel like I should like because there’s glimmers of goodness but the main leads are very unlikable and I just did not connect with it at all and wanted it to be over. 4.5/10 My average score for V/H/S viral is a 2.5/10 hey utterly disappointing and low point for the franchise. Grade D+
Sucked and not scary at all
The first short story was just straight up mega ass, and the rest were meh. Doesn't hold a candle anywhere near to the two previous V/H/S movies.

V/H/S Viral creates some of the series scariest short films, all contained within a well-made, masterfully produced anthology focusing on 'fame' and 'fortune'. More specifically, Viral popularity. Connected together by a truly terrifying 'filler' story.
First skit was good, then it fell apart…
If you thought the first two were thin on explanations, this one is the king of the series. What an incoherent, random series of films that are neither disturbing nor scary. It felt like someone’s weekday hobby filming these and putting them together for a few thrills. It didn’t work. It was bad. Unfortunately this series has lots it’s way
This contained nothing that made the first two films so good, besides the gore. This is a woefully directed and terribly written follow up to 2 great films. Grade: D-
