I had a tough time setting through this one. Not for the faint of heart. I love horror but this felt real. Acting was top notch.

Mesmo com cenas explícitas de tortura e luta, o filme em um todo é mais dramático e menos terror. Portanto para quem pensa ver um filme como Doce Vingança, pode esquecer. A montagem não é temporal e a edição é extremamente morosa. No fim, (impressão minha), não acho que a protagonista seja tão vítima assim. Ainda peca por deixar as tramas em aberto (sem spoilers).

This is gut-wrenching real world horror at it's finest, with a heartbreaking performance anchoring the audience through a few acts of dizzying violence and sexual assault.

Absolutely nerve wrecking revenge drama I've ever seen in recent times! Although it feels a little stretched in beginning, it gradually escalates into something dark as the movie progresses.....with brilliant performances by the lead actors, and especially the non-linear story telling just makes it more amazing a movie!

Did I enjoy watching this movie? No. Am I giving it 5 stars on purpose? 100%. I was utterly CAPTIVATED by this film. Would you enjoy watching a horrific strangulation murder and dismemberment in real life purpetrated by an inexperienced first time killer? No. THATS what this movie is. It is the most realistic view of true revenge in the real world I’ve ever seen. Hard to explain how heavy this flick is

This movie brilliantly takes on a sensitive subject and leaves room for interpretation and discussion. It's tough giving a review without spoiling it. Madeline and Jesse's performances...WOW and Woooowww! This cast has chemistry I rarely see in movies nowadays.

This movie is the worst conceived plot that I have had the displeasure of sitting through. The story is confusing and conflicting. Unreasonably sexually explicit to the point of soft-core pornography and excessively lengthy snuff scene to follow up.

Hyper-realistic, tense and gore! "Violation" creates a clever ambiguity as the viewer will keep questioning who the victim truly is. This movie subverts the typical revenge horror movie. Brilliant and disturbing!

This was a horrible, messed up film. I can't think of a single reason to recommend it. I honestly wish I hadn't watched it. It just left me feeling tense, disgusted and angry that the murderer got away with everything without a single consequence. There was nothing redeeming about the film. It wasn't entertaining. There wasn't any kind of message. I don't know why this film was made. The dialogue was also obviously improvised, which made it cringier. And the final act of the murder scene wasn't even credible. The only thing I liked about the film was the beautiful outdoor scenery and the cabin exteriors.

My favourite movie of 2021. A breathtaking gut punch of a movie. Unbearably hard to watch at times. Yes, kind of a rape revenge film, but one in which the victim seems to be just as much a perpetrator as a victiim. One that conveys the revenge as disproportionate to the crime. Not to relativize or downplay, but to question the nature and futility of revenge itself (and the tropes of the film genre it operates in). It also subverts the genre by basically reversing the male gaze. Co-writer, co-director and star Madeleine Sims-Fewer and her collaborator Dusty Mancinelli did a hell of a job of creating a movie that is as thought provoking as it is daring and disturbing. It's also graphically violent at times. A must see.
