Voyagers Reviews
Surprised it got such terrible reviews - I at least was very pleasantly surprised by this sci-fi flix that was under my radar. Sure, it drank from sources like Alien (without the Alien) and Lord of the Flies, but it was riveting. It seemed like this could actually happen. The acting was fine and the what-ifs just flew threw my mind - especially, if there really is or not hope for humans to ever colonize other planets similar to ours. On the technical side, I had some issues - like how would the young people fix something on a space walk - they didn't seem to have any experience - and why wasn't there a human-like, vocal AI helping them go though the motions - I mean, there was a "program" recommending their actions and emphasizing rules, but I missed a more interactive, talking program like in so many other sci-fi movies?
I liked this more than others apparently. There were some plot holes that left me asking questions, but still the story was there and action was decent. It was a good story that I thought developed well.
Sakto lang. Ok un concept ng kwento pero sana pinakita (sinabi lang kasi sa dialogue) kung anu na kalagayan ng earth bago & pagkatapos nila umalis.
A fresh and intriguing concept that blends Lord of the Flies with Sex Education, creating a unique and engaging story. The film keeps you invested from start to finish, with a compelling atmosphere and strong execution. Unlike what some reviews suggest, this is far from a failure—it's an original and thought-provoking watch that deserves more credit. A well-placed cliffhanger could have elevated the ending even further, but it still delivers a satisfying experience
Like others, I saw the parallels with Lord of the Flies fairly early. I lasted an hour with this, mainly because I realized, after Colin Farrell's character was killed off, I didn't really care what happened to any of the others. At least Colin, who I really like as an actor, got an easy payday on this one.
What a waste of time...all 40 minutes I've spent with this nonsense.
A very unique premise covers 86 years during a space flight to save humanity. Cool watching the characters age.
Lord of the flies in space.
Think Lord of the Flies, but with girls too.
Lord of the Flies in space. I am not sure this adds much, other than maybe as a reminder that just because we travel in starships and not steamships, we are still human. Much of the movie was interesting, but the ending felt tacked on, and I felt they probably could have spent less time running in the halls and more time fleshing out individual supporting character types - for example the autistic girl who never made eye contact and always followed the rules - I thought that was a decently done follow through. Most of the rest of the cast were just mindless drones though.
Waste of 90 minutes.. go outside and do something productive instead of watching this trash .. 0/10
Had an amazing plot on the surface (Lord of the flies in space like others said) and had a really good opportunity to be a great movie. They spent 99% of their time on the bad guys, excessively showing them and empowering them, emboldened them almost to a point of the moving being completely about Zac and them. Passed multiple points of no return in my opinion of being a feasible believable story and plot. You can have betrayal and murder etc, character growth changing people. But you cannot have all of what they had in that movie and end with everybody trusting each other and eating in the same room and voting. Absolute bs. I never feel like I have wasted my time after watching a movie. I felt that was a complete waste of time, half way through the movie people should have changed their tune, saw who Zac was being after the first murder, saw who he was after the girl getting shot. To have the crew change their mind at the last moment of the movie because what he as killed? Shows absolutely no change of heart no character growth what so ever. Can't understate how terrible it was and non redeeming.
It is an honest reflection on the darkness of human nature. Not a fun or enjoyable watch, but realistic.
I was surprised I had never heard of this movie, they did a great job. Shocked the rating are not ☝ higher!
It is just an updated Sci-Fi version of Lord of the Flies (In Space) but the YA crowd has probably never heard of Lord of the Flies. As every parent knows, Teenagers are awful and parents are happy if they get through it.
Bad movie, almost didn't finish it. The characters are painfully stupid and it's hard to watch. There are no new or interesting ideas and the entire movie is too predictable. Wasted almost two hours of my life watching this.
Wow.. this is bad bad.
clearly a lot of people dont understand this movie and find it doll. Its a very good movie telling a story about humans and how we get tricked with religion and other stuff designed to scare the life out of you, so that the "great leader" can safe you and all against him are part of the evil part and must be destroyed. During the movie you think to yourself "why cant they tell they are getting fooled, and why do they start killing each other". But actully most people are getting fooled everyday and we are killing each other in vain - and we are absolutely blind to it. A brilliant movie for all to see.
Ooof what a piece of crap. Couldn't finish this film, even when lying in bed sick with nothing to do
In the beginning I was really surprised, it hooked me really fast, because it went into a direction that mixed "Passengers" with the Teenie-Genre (like Maze Runner, Divergent) which I found interesting, but as it went on it went into a fight between those teenagers that more and more got frustrating to watch. But the villain was as hatable as a villain in a movie like this can be - props for that.
