Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story Reviews
One of the cleverest and most insightful parody films I have ever seen. Genuinely funny in places too.
A really funny spot-on parody of all tired cliches from musician biopics with a huge cast and really funny comedic timing.
It is imperative to watch the uncut/unedited version of this film. Quotably fun; Irreverent, silly, charming, and wit mixed with self-aware tropes and cliches. A one-of-a-kind parody, filled with pop-culture references and topped with surprisingly well produced original music.
This is a funny and entertaining movie, with very little message or theme, but chalk full of funny one liners and scenes.
Needed to be punched up with more gags.
I love this movie, quote it all the time. One of the funniest movies ever made imo.
One of my all time favorite comedies
Firstly, you have to understand the history of rock'n'roll, from Jerry Lee marrying his 14 year old cousin to how Elvis rose to prominence, drug use in rock'n'rollers, 1970's bad tv shows, etc. Secondly, watching bio pics such Walk the Line, Ray, Elvis. It becomes a satire on 50 years of rock'n'roll with even more hilarious over the top lyrics to the songs. "The wrong kid died"!
Absolutely Hilarious.... The first time I watched this movie I was severely depressed and just put something on at a friend's, I watched it back to back and laughed so hard the second time, I have watched this movie numerous times and laugh so hard every time so many hilarious quotables.. such a great movie🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This movie changed my life ' wrong kid died '
The best music biopic of all time, it may be the finest comedy drama of all time, just perfect John C Reilly's Magnum Opus
What?! Why such a low rating by the audience? This was a hilarious movie! I completely enjoyed this whole thing, throughout.
While admittedly a very likeable comedy with lots of great individual moments, most thanks to the talents of Reilly, I was disappointed with the movie as a whole and didn't laugh near as much as I had hoped or expected. That being said, I can see why this film has gained a cult following over the years. But much like another Reilly comedy, STEP BROTHERS, that would be released the following year, I just didn't groove with it. I wish the filmmakers were a little more ambitious and tried to lampoon more than just WALK THE LINE, as 95% of the film is dedicated to satirizing that Oscar winner. I love Fischer as Pam on THE OFFICE - it's a perfect role for her comedic talents - but she doesn't have the on-screen personality or charisma here to match Reilly. I almost wish Fischer and Wiig, who appears briefly as Reilly's first wife, had switched roles, as Wiig obviously has the comedic chops to make something out of an underwritten role. On the plus side, Reilly obviously savors this starring role, and to whatever degree this comedy succeeds, it's largely due to his presence. I was also impressed with the original songs, which obviously poke fun at their predecessors but feel credible enough that they could almost be actual hits on their own. What we have here is a very funny 45 minutes stretched out to twice that length. I certainly didn't hate it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it again.
The movie itself is bit stupid/ridiculous, but that's what makes it funny. Yes, it can also have a bit over the top. And that's how a lot of comedys were during 00s. The movie did come out while I was in high-school so it's very nostalgic for me. I would highly recommend but it's not for everyone.
I will watch this film over and over. Great songs with John C. and Angela Correa singing together. All I{ can say if you are A John C. fan as I am this movie will cut you in half! I've been halfed!
I don't know what nerds gave this movie negative reviews but it is one of the funniest movies from 2000-2010. Severely underrated. People who don't like this probably LOVE Adam Sandler's Grown Ups movies
Don't waste your life.. If you're in a hurry to watch your kids become adults watch this movie by the time it finishes, you'll be sending them off to college.
This was a extremely funny movie. It's hard to write a review about this movie because I am lost for words. The songs were funny John C. Reilly was really funny a lot of scenes left me in fits of laughter. Perfect movie.
This movie is tragically underrated. It is easily a top 5 comedy of the 2000-2010 range. The humor is silly enough on the surface to get laughs on its own, but if you've seen "Walk the Line", "Ray" and "I'm Not There", it's an entirely different level of comedy.
